After his parents request that he come home for their 50th wedding anniversary, the TV host packs up his 10-year-old son and diva bride-to-be and heads back to Georgia. It's a chance to prove to his family that he's no longer the awkward kid they relentlessly picked on. At least, that's the plan. But, when his crazy, lovable family calls him on his big-city attitude and challenges him at every turn, RJ is forced to take a hard look at the man he's become. He may be a superstar in L.A., but he's just one of the guys in Dry Springs.

This... Ummm... How do I explain this movie? It had a really good basis/storyline but there was to much swearing for my taste and way to many sexual references for a Pg13 Movie! For that, I will only give it 3 stars.

Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins was extremely funny. It was also sad at some parts in it, and can bring tears to your eyes. Some of the characters in it were very annoying and others just got you very mad. One thing they could have done better was made Roscoe Jenkins pay more attention to his son. The acting was excellent as well between all the characters. They all also got a pretty well amount of time each on the screen. The story didn't have to much to it and could have been done a lot better. For the most part all the characters they chose though did an amazing job and were all very funny. I would definitely see this movie over and over again with having to pay 7 or 8 dollars to see it. I recommend this movie to anyone who likes comedy movies you will not be disappointed. The message toward this movie was also excellent about just having fun and not always about winning, and also choosing your kid over a stupid game. All and all this was a great movie and will probably be the best comedy of the year.

Excellent cast of characters. It was hilarious and entertaining. It reminds you a bit of Tyler Perry's version but I personaly prefer Perry's over this one.

This movie was a cute rental. While it did have some funny parts it is not one that I will be adding to my DVD collection. It was however worth the price of the rental.

Roscoe Jenkins (Martin Lawrence) is a successful television talk show host who seems to be a cross between Dr. Phil and Jerry Springer. Roscoe is a single father of a pre-teen son, and he has just gotten engaged to a very strong-willed Survivor champion. Things are looking pretty good for Roscoe, and he's hesitant to leave his life of luxury for a few days to attend his parents' 50th anniversary celebration/family reunion weekend. Nonetheless, he decides to take the trip. He might have might a different decision if he had known how much this weekend was going to turn his comfortable life upside down. Funny, inviting, and just a wee bit over the top, Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins is a delightful surprise. It offers up an amazing cast, a consistent level of laughs, and enough homespun heart to get us over the calculated, cartoonish bits. Mike Epps and Mo'Nique both do their standard routines reasonably well, while Michael Clarke Duncan makes a good impression as Roscoe's brother. Lee has a vision for the piece and he sticks to his guns, pushing forward with massive displays of silliness, mostly centered on the continual beating of Roscoe at the hands of his brothers and sisters, and trusting his cast to improv like heavyweight champs and offer comedic reactions with Kabuki-like enormity.

This movie really had alot of potential. The language makes it so unbearable. Hollywood please take this advice bad language does not make a comedy movie a hit. Comedy should be fun and clean so that everyone can enjoy it!
