I loved this movie! I have no earthly idea why this is getting squashed by the critics,Grrr don't listen to them. The fact is maybe I was sucked in by this a little more than the average person because I AM one of these women, going through the very same exact thing she was.So this one really hit home. It's perfect, make you laugh, make you cry, make you want to jump for joy.I really liked it.Totally recommended!
Nije me pretjerano odusevio, ima dobrih scena di sam se nasmijala i to je to.. Vise mi je to nekako film za starije gospode.
It's always a precarious position, to attempt to remake any acclaimed and hugely popular classic. Surely first time film director Diane English, whose previous work was the long-running tv series Murphy Brown, knew this. Knew with all of her knowledge of Hollywood that her take of the 1939 film will be dissected and butchered. While the original film has been tagged with adjectives like "fun", "catty" and "satirical", English has so far been receiving "bland" and "lazy". But give the lady some credit for standing by this dream production, which she wrote and peddled more than a decade past and apparently had the interest of the likes of Julia Roberts, Meg Ryan and Marisa Tomei. Julia Roberts AND Meg Ryan, now that would be interesting.
The lesson here is to avoid watching the old film at all costs before you see this, if you really want to enjoy this one like it's fresh from the hot oven. U.S. critics can be cruel. There are fun and heartwarming moments to be savored here. Not to mention thought-provoking quips about friendships and relationships in general. And who would not want to see this ensemble cast? A group of talented actors who might not have a chance to work with each other again. And this might be the only film you'll see where The Women really is ALL women. No men allowed to grace an iota of screen space. Now that will never be bland.
Just went to see it.. liked it.. but it was too short and missing alot of stuff..
though many things mentioned there are totally true =D
This one is definitely not a good movie, but I enjoyed some parts of it. The actresses are all at the top of their game (exept Jada Pinkett Smith, who is really bad), but the script too often aims for lame one-liners and unjustified raunch.
