This is a fun movie. Love the game show. I will however have to say, has very little in common with the original Stephen King (writing as Richard Bachman) story it is "based" on.

MCT:July 27, 2008I had no idea this was based on a SK novel. I never read the book, but love the movie and its cheesy over the top acting. Richard Dawson was a fun addition to this film.

MCT:July 20, 2008wow i have not seen this movie in ages but i really loved this arnold schwarzenegger movie n think that this is 1 of his best movies/films hes ever made/done...i think that the director of this Drama, Science Fiction & Fantasy movie had done a good job of directing this movie because you never know what 2 expect throguhout this movie because he keeps you on the edge's of your seats throughout this movie...imn not sure which is arnold schwarzenegger's best movie is because he has made some really good movies like the running man, total recall, end of days, the terminator, terminator 2, hercules in new york, raw deal, n a load of other good movies throughout..this is 1 of his best ever movies hes done/made....this is a good thriller movie the special effects throughout the movie are all really good throughout the movie...this has got a good cast of actors/actressess throughout the movie n this is an enjoyable movie 2 watch because you never know what 2 expect throughout this movie n its really funn n its enjoyable 2 watch..

One of Schwarzenegger's funnest movies! And Mick Fleetwood and Dweezil Zappa?!? Come on! You go to love it! Richard Dawson was GREAT! Matbe even worth a low end nomination if the year was weak on Supporting actors!

The Richard Bachman (Stephen King) book this was taken from is SO much different.
This isn't a bad thing. I liked this take on the Reality Death show better. -

No, it's not as good as the Stephen King short story (Ben Richards crashes a jetliner into the TV studio while holding his guts inside his belly) but it is a good flick to check out, mainly for Jesse "The Body" Ventura and the kissing bandit Richard Dawson.

Arnie's one liner count is off the charts. An interesting combination of Commando style stupidity and Robocop style satire. Mostly it's just fun to see roided out man beasts destroy each other. Seriously, Buzzsaw constantly looks like his head is about to explode. And the bit where Arnie rips the camera out of the wall is the greatest thing he's ever done.

One of my personal favorites! it may not be as good as Stephen King's book but this Sci-fi action thriller is a helluva fun for anyone who likes the genres.

A great 1980's action flick. It's got a decent story along with the puns and corny jokes you'd expect from an early Arnold movie. Very good performances from both Arnold and Richard Dawson. I rank this just below 'Total Recall' in quality. It's got some good action. Not much else to say about it.

Holy Fuckin' Shit! This very loose adaptation from Stephen King speaks like a prophercy to the reality TV generation though I doubt they knew just how much weight the story would hold in the real 21st century.

Probably in Arnie's top five films. 80s cheese, but still good. The idea and the storyline isn't bad. I think this is a good B movie. They could remake this today into an awesome movie because the idea itself is pretty good.

Wow. An amazing Schwarzenegger movie. Full of action & more action, The Running Man is absolutely amazing. I think it's funny how both Arnie & Jesse Ventura are governors of different states now. Arnie of course of California and Jesse of Minnesota.
Anyways, back to this movie. The only other thing I have to say about this is ...
ACTION. Hah, yet again I mentioned the word action. -

i saw this movie a few yrs ago-what its about is ah-nuld plays a character that comes to life in a seedy game show to save the winning contestant from almost certain death. its not bad, but you can SOOO tell its 80s

MCT:December 29, 2007I'm used to seeing Richard Dawson on Hogan's Heroes and repeats of Family Feud, so in this movie, he does a complete 180. I was a little startled. But it was a pretty decent movie.
