MCT:August 28, 2008I have always liked Hilary Swank,So this movie had good points on its side before I even started to watch it.I really did like this movie though.Very entertaining,Keeps you guessing,and had some pretty cool special effects in it as well.If you like these types of movies with strange phenomenon and religious/scientific angles on these occurences then you wil like this.Check it out!!

About a town suffering from the ten biblical plagues and a Christian missionary looking to get to the bottom of the situation. Hilary Swank is terrific. A pretty enjoyable, creepy film.

As religious cult thrillers go this was actually better than i expected. It was easy to predict but still enjoyable enough. There are worse ways to spend 90 mins.

Horrible, horrible CGI. I mean, REALLY BAD. It's a shame, I really liked this movie, despite really hokey parts and the aforementioned special effects. This would've been a better movie if it had better CGI and a better director.

MCT:July 25, 2008It was sufficiently creepy (what is creepier than religion?). The plot was a bit predictable, although I did enjoy the movie overall. The ending almost ruined the whole movie for me. If you are extremely offended by religious propaganda, then do not watch this movie. If you are good at humoring things, then go ahead.

I really didn't dislike this movie, it was actually a suprise, éi wanted to see this because it's Dark Castle, but I really didn't expect this much.
The actor are descent, seriously, and the story is interesting and well built, I enjoyed. -

A uniquely made story line building up to the unexpected. Why would you want more? Who would think old world Bible Mythology could still hold such sway. The use of bringing the plagues to life in a modern society, I love it.

I thought this movie had a great feel to it. The ending hits and its like... wait..what? The special effects are amazing as well. For being someone who can almost always predict the ending... this movie def gets five stars from me.

MCT:July 15, 2008This was an okay flick, but it wasted any momentum it built in the first hour by dicking around in the last act, throwing revelation after revelation at you until you don't care anymore. There aren't any scares either, save for a few jumps here or there.
A rental at best. -

A Christian Convincing Horror movie. It's hard to make a movie that is pushing Christanity worth really watching, but the myth of the devil is probably the scariest folk tale in human history. It works to an extent, but that's about all.
The actors are good but the storyline could of been better. It's fairly predictable if you know anything about the myth of the plagues in the bible (I do love how they show the scientific explaination for that one) but at the end there's a nice surprise that gave me more respect for the movie than I had through out it.
Watch it once, maybe twice with a friend or two and that's probably about all you'll need of this one. -

i loved this movie not the best horror out there but visually stunning film to me anywhere, I have seen a lot of better ones of course but this was just spooky to me...yeah it wasn't visually the most stunning film i ever saw nor was it the best ambiance or everything but i love every part of it and especially the crickets that shit was creepy!!!!

Meh... It was okay. Had some cool visual effects and Hilary Swank was pretty good in it but it was a pretty cliched ending and some odd dialogue. Was enjoyable. 6 out of 10

Although the premise is fun, and the visuals render it enjoyable, this movie really doesn't make as much sense as it wants or needs to. Swank gives a good performance but the scripting is quite appalling and she suffers under that. I'd say worth seeing for the fun idea, but don't be expecting a smart horror masterpiece unless you want to be seriously disappointed...

MCT:July 2, 2008A bit of a mismash of ideas that doesn't really work as a horror, thriller or drama. Hilary Swank puts in a fine performance but the script doesn't make any sense. If this was a thriller concerning Swank's character coming to terms with her family's deeath then this may have worked, though the inclusion of references to the biblical plagues is a little strange, though the scene with the locusts is handled well. A little bit of a weird mess.

This movie started off so slow and boring. And then as it was geting to the end the movie was AWESOME!! The little girl loren had the most awesome role any little girl has ever had. She won my vote for best young female actress performance. That movie aslo had a "might be a sequel" ending, dont you just love those?
