This movie, starting out will remind you somewhat of pride and prejudice, but trust me, its nothing like it! Many twists and turns. I really, really loved this movie!

God I love Natalie. She was so damn good in this. I wish they would have casted Natalie and Keira instead though. They look alike and they are both wicked when they want to be, it would have made a more interesting story.

A costume drama set in the Tudor's era, based off the book of the same name. The novel being a historical fiction (inspired by actual people and events). In truth though there is really not much known about Anne Boleyn's history, the mystery as to what her life was like is what inspired the author to create a story for Anne.

The movie bounced too much and would have lost me if I had not read the book. While the movie plot did deviate from the book (as they all normally do), Anne Boleyn's character was played a little too sweetly.

The film has its fair share of problems, yes, but like a bad soap opera, it just kept me glued to screen; much of this, of course, was thanks to Natalie Portman's wicked little schemes and fantastic performance. Ana Torrent was underused, though, and what the hell happened to Scarlett Johansson? This has got to be her worst performance.

Unbelievably good plot. A great cast come together to make this historical period worth noting and pondering about...another great performance by Natalie Portman

Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman in the same movie? I had too see this and indeed it is a rich display in strong performances all around. However, my lack of interest in history made the story hard for me to enjoy despite the fine acting and visuals.

I thought it would be a better movie ... but I was a bit disappointed. The acting seemed rather fake at some points.

It was a great movie. Actors were great. I'm happy to see Eric Bana in another role and actually doing really well. I love Scarlett and Natalie in this flick. The simplicity of the beginning reminds me of the movies I watched as a child. I shared many of the same aspirations of Mary who had the bright idea to stay out of the way. I know a tidbit of the situation with Henry the 8th from history books and I've been meaning to pick them back up but this just gives me that extra push.

This movie glossed over so much of the book. The book was rich in details and I felt this movie was mainly Scarlett or Natalie crying. Natalie was a great actress, but I could have done without Scarlett.

Not great but I really enjoyed the performances all around. This was not the catty bitchfight of a movie that I had been expecting and the tone gets pretty dark as the film progresses.

It's hard not to compare this to the multitude of films made about Elizabeth I, which I have to say make this movie seem a little dull. Plotwise it's lacking a bit but it's enjoyable.

I have no idea what to say. I dont know if I could sit through it again, and yet I wish there were a 6 star rating. An amazing movie, but it is not for the faint hearted. I was shaking, and couldnt move at the end of it. Im 13 and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone under 13 at least. This is not to say its not amazing, and having watched it yesterday, I would class it up there!

Excellent, a wonderful epic movie. This movie not only taught us a little bit about english history, but it was entertaining. For once an epic movie had justified use of the English accent, and the cast, the dialogue and everything else were wonderful. Acting was flawless, which made this movie flawless, couldn't have been improved upon. Natalie Portman plays the manipulative, power hungry Ann Boleyn who wants to become Queen of England. Even if it means destroying a family(and creating some powerful enemies[for not only her but all of England]Italy, and Spain), a country and a way of life, Ann will stop at nothing, stepping on her own siblings for her own gain. Ann gets more than she expected, and is a testiment to the saying "be careful what you wish for"

Overall I was really disappointed. The focus of the storyline revolving around sex when there was so much more. But 'sex sells' doesn't it? Eric Bana was marvelous though, he can do no wrong!

Christinewannabe47 - This isn't actually a series, Gregory wrote The Other Boylen Girl well before any of her other Tudor books. Her series is called Wideacre. Although I've yet to read Wideacre, i have read all her Tudor books, and her one on slave trading, and they are all fabulous.

Personally I think the movie ruined the book. It completely misrepresented the relationships between ALL characters, left out countless important plot points, and just well sucked. Plus it totally missed the point that Mary is The Other Boleyn Girl! It made out Anne was. We've always known about Anne Mary's the forgotten Boleyn Girl, We even know more about Little Kitty Howard, and Mary's daughter with Henry (who was by the way not included in the movie) then we do about Mary herself... So how could they misinterpret that Mary was the other Boleyn Girl? And they ruined George who i adored!

ruined one of my favourite books and favourite historical character. Eric bana and scarlett were barely trying and her acting was not brilliant.
Natalie Portman was very good tho.
