Ang Lee's 2003 version of The Hulk was a complete mess and Marvel must have realized this too as they decided that, rather than make a sequel, they'd reboot the series - only this time they'd stick closer to its comic roots and try to deliver a movie fans would love.

There's a ton of references to the 70's TV show and the comics here and Edward Norton is well suited for the role of Bruce Banner. I also enjoyed some of the action sequences as things blow-up real good and was moderately entertained but I could have done without the pretty dull mid-section, Liv Tyler's under-developed character, and a finale that trots out way too much CGI for my liking.

Compared to Lee's version this is way better and, while it's not on the level of Iron Man, it's worthwhile for fans of Marvel's stable of characters.

I saw this one, and it was actually kinda good. It was great that they had Robert Downey Jr. in it. In fact, lol, I only went to go see it because he was in it for like 5 min. well anyways, he's a great actor. After seeing this, I kind of expected more from a awesome sounding superhero movie like this. It makes you feel empty at the end. It's worth watching though.

I said:".............I don't get it......... No really, I don't get it........I mean, they made a movie about the Hulk, again....And "from the beginning"...Why?! Ang Lee's Hulk from 2003 is pretty dissent, even really good. And I think that Eric Bana did a good job, too. I just don't get it......Although, I adore Edvard Norton, I think he's too old for this kind of role......P.S. I'm not interested in seeing this movie, but if "our paths cross" I'll definitely see it and add some changes to this review". And I finally seen it. I was SOOOOOOO right. I just want to add: DAMN IT'S BORING!!!! P.S. I just don't get the "mix" of two different movies in this one: I.I.H.> WHAT A HELL WAS THAT?

If you want to see a really and entertaining action flick of Hulk, here is, and much better that the 2003 Hulk that was really boring and no entertaining, but this is exceptional, this movie has 3 action sequences,at the beginning, at middle and the amazing Abomination vs Hulk incredible battle of about 26 mins!
Great visual effects and good performances of Edward Norton, William Hurt (playing and acceptable General Ross) and Tim Roth as the villain.

Now, I would like to bring this back to my initial point, and explain why The Incredible Hulk marks the beginning of the inevitable decline of the superhero comic book adaptation genre. While Iron Man benefited from a sense of fun and Robert Downey, Jr.?s irresistible charm, and The Dark Knight was something in a completely different league, The Incredible Hulk, which was released in theatres right between the two other comic book juggernauts, comes across as frightfully run-of-the-mill: good, well-made, but bringing absolutely nothing new to the table. With Marvel studios lining up feature films for Thor, Captain America, Ant-Man and Nick Fury, as well as one massive The Avengers film bringing together all their independently produced film characters, it can very easily be seen that unless each film takes a completely unique standpoint and brings something really special and new to the table, they will all start feeling redundant really fast and really soon. Also, what after The Avengers? There aren?t nearly enough comic book superheroes to bankroll endless comic book adaptation films, and there can only be so many sequels ? both the X-Men and Spider-Man franchises crashed-and-burned whatever quality they had by film 3, Superman is already washed up, Christopher Nolan probably won?t make any more than one more Batman film, and who knows how successful Marvel?s upcoming, lesser-known superhero movies will fare. The Incredible Hulk, featuring a fairly universally known hero, didn?t fare too well at the box office, which leaves the future of the genre, at least in my opinion, pretty clear.

"You'll like him when he's angry."

Mild-mannered scientist Bruce Banner has been traveling the globe in search of the antidote that will allow him to break free from his primal alter ego, but both the warmongers who long to exploit him for their own gain and a horrific creature known as The Abomination are determined to stop him from achieving his noble goal in Transporter 2 director Louis Leterrier's take on the classic Marvel Comics superhero tale. For years, Bruce (Edward Norton) has been living in the shadows, pursued by the military and haunted by the rage within. But traveling the world in secrecy isn't easy, and as hard as he tries Bruce can't get Betty Ross (Liv Tyler) off his mind. The daughter of Bruce's nemesis Gen. Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross (William Hurt), Betty represents everything that is beautiful in the world to a man who lives his life on the run. Eventually, Bruce returns to civilization and faces the wrath of The Abomination. While the Hulk may be a formidable force of nature, The Abomination is decidedly more powerful, and determined to destroy Bruce Banner. Created when KGB agent Emil Blonsky (Tim Roth) exposed himself to a higher dose of the same radiation that transformed Bruce into The Hulk, The Abomination is unable to change back into human form and holds Bruce accountable for his frightful condition. With time fast running out for both Bruce and The Hulk, New York City is about to become the ultimate urban battle zone as two of the most powerful creatures ever to walk the earth clash in a massive, no-holds-barred fight to the finish.

    Review
This reboot to 2003's Hulk starring Edward Norton, Liv Tyler, Tim Roth and William Hurt did precisely what it was made to do: to be an all out, guns-blazing, hell-hath-no-fury fighting, bone crunching summer blockbuster. The main problem with the first Hulk is that it took itself too seriously, it had more talk and less action and I'm no Einstein but the best place for a 10 foot tall, green beast is in a street duking it out with a 10 foot tall brownish abomination with spikes shooting out in his back. The reboot just did that. It may have not been a 30 minute fight scene as promised but still, we are treated with such a visual spectacle you will be on the edge of your seats until the Hulk does his trademark move, the "HULK SMASH!".

This version of Hulk is a lot better than Ang Lee's because first, the people behind the film embraced the idea of the Hulk being a less-talk-more-action kind of guy, second, the Hulk is actually just seven feet tall in the comics not 15 feet tall like what Ang Lee depicted in his version, this film stayed true to the roots of Hulk and they stuck with a shorter, brawnier, much greener version of him and it worked out pretty well in the end. Edward Norton, always the excellent actor, was stellar in this one. His portrayal of Bruce Banner is much more melancholic, emotional, desperate and you sympathize with his plight. Eric Bana's performance was okay but I find Edward Norton's much better and not only because he is my most favorite actor of all but if you look at it really carefully, you can see that he is truly the embodiment of Bruce Banner. He really connected with the character and I'm impressed.

Tim Roth on the other hand, who plays villain Emil Blonsky aka Abomination, gave a very spooky performance. He really dug in to the Emil character and it was pretty amazing. The scene where he in human form, approaches the Hulk shooting grenades at him and then goes all karate kid on him with the backflips and the hand gun, oh my god, that scene will really shake you to the bone. It shows how fearless he is and his drive to destroy Hulk will ultimately consume him in the end. Amazing performance from both the hero and the villain.

Other cast mates includes Liv Tyler as Bruce's ladylove Betty Ross and William Hurt as the guy who wants to harness the Hulk's power, General Ross. Their performances were quite good. Its a step away from the performances in the 2003 version. Lou Ferrigno who played Hulk sometime ago makes a cameo as a security guard and as usual, Stan Lee, the creator also makes a special appearance as the guy who drank that Brazilian soda punch. And of course the creme de la creme of all cameos is that of Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark who makes a quick little chit chat with General Ross about this "group"(read: The Avengers) they're making for which General Ross replies "What group?" and Stark with a funny look in his face. It only means one thing: come 2011, I'll be the first in line in the Avengers movie, I'm already there.

The Incredible Hulk is a lot better than 2003's Hulk and I can give you a 1,001 reasons why. A worthy addition to the Marvel movies collection.

ANG LEE'S "HULK" WAS MUCH BETTER ..1) IN PLOT
    2) GRAPHICS AND SPECIAL EFFECTS & SOUND TOO
    3) HULK IN ANG LEE"S WAS MORE WELL DEISGNED..
INCREDIBLE HULK WAS TOO RINCKELD , TOO ANGRY FOR NO REASON..LIKE AN ANIMAL WITHOUT AXPLAINING WHY..?

ANG LEE"S NEEDED MORE ACTION AND FASTER PLOT..I AGREE TO TRY TO RE-BOOT IT BUT THEY FAILED DEEP..ERIC BANA WAS GOOD AS BRUCE BANNER..AND EDWARD NORTON ALSO WAS GOOD BUT I THINK HE CAN'T BE HULK...

not so sure why Norton is so proud of writing the script! actually "writing" is an over-statement.

The main elements here were special effects, fire, noise, noise and noise! lots and lots of noise as the sweet hulk screams his head off every five seconds, im sure that took up many pages while writing!

lucky for Norton he didn't have much acting to do, he really needed to focus on his screen writing career. However he wasn't terrible in the few shots he was at..no surprises here.
On the other hand his green action figure was, maybe an improvement over Lee's Hulk but non the less still looks like a large plastic toy.

The poor character development was a result of trying to completely alienate this film from A.Lee's film . i say it hurt more then helped. personally i would have liked to see a mix of both.

Incredible Hulk serves well an a pop corn action flick, it one is looking for 100 mins of chase sequences, explosions and no real story Then Incredible Hulk is perfect.

The Hulk character holds a special place in my heart because of Bill Bixby, so I was excited to see a fresh take on this comic hero. "The Incredible Hulk" is exactly that: a fresh take. Not a do-over, but rather an exposition of the elements put forth by Ang Lee in the first attempt to tell this story. This new film hearkens back to the Bixby series more than anything else. And I believe that's what makes it so enjoyable.

Not as good as 'iron Man', but still a cool movie. I was a bit skeptical about this because the 1st one was such a bad movie. This one turned out to be pretty good, though.

Alot of cool references to the old television show, which is cool since I liked that show alot. Ed Norton was good as Dr. Bruce Banner, and although I'm not to crazy for over-the-top special effects, the hulk looked pretty cool in this one.
(Tall, lean, and more athletic looking compared to the bulky cartoony one form the other movie)

I am not a Hulk fan. Never liked the comics, tv show or previous movies. It always manages to come off looking fake. I was suprised by this version. The story line made this work. It did a good job of holding my interest. The scenes were he is the Hulk are still far from realistic, but is an improvement over the past film. I still don't consider myself a fan of the Hulk, but I found this more entertaining than previous Hulk stuff.

not bad but far from great. The hulk looked better and ending was better, acting took a slight drop, and editing was vastly inferior to HULK (2003). The end result about same quality movie. No need to restart franchise and it almost works as a continuation with out really being one. I would like to see Peter Jackson do a hulk because the hulk does not need to be all cgi, although Jackson's cgi characters usually look great, and Jackson proved with lord of rings how to tweak scale.

Run-of-the-mill comic book adaptation. Haven't seen the first one but not even Ed Norton's performance could have stopped me from getting totally bored watching this. Plenty of explosions & fighting but not enough story. And sorry but Tim Roth was totally mis-cast in this. Nice little cameo from Tony Stark at the end though.

Well where to begin. Compared to the first one it has alot more action and special effects. But they're were things in the first one I liked better. Mainly because it followed the comic books and cartoons more. When Hulk gets hurt he self regenerates and when he gets mad he has the ability to triple in size. These were two things they had in the first film but not in the second. And they made the Hulk look kinda whimpy in this one. But I have to agree with everybody about the Hulk smash. Probably the best sceen in the whole movie. And the thunder clap was crazy good. Overall it was a good flick to see in theatres.

"The Incredible Hulk" is two times better than the previous Hulk movie directed by Ang Lee. This movie was a superhero movie with a super hero movie like storyline. Although it had a promising cast, with Edward Norton as the HULK and Liv Tyler, Tim Roth and William Hurt in the supporting roles, it did not end up being as good as it was hyped up to be. "
The Incredible Hulk" recounts the struggle of Dr. Bruce Banner (Edward Norton) to return his body back to the normal state it was before the hulk became a part of him. This movie has no connections with the previous hulk movie.
This time round the graphics and the storyline are much better. The casting is also pretty good. But all these things are not good enough to make this movie elevate itself to the standard of the "dark Knight".
Don't get me wrong, It has some very impressive fight sequences especially the ones with the two Hulks. The look of the film is much darker which fits with the story perfectly. Edward Norton and Liv Tyler have a very good chemistry and I found their King Kong type love scene on the rocks quite interesting...but all these things just don't seem enough. Throughout the movie I had a feeling that something was missing, that something more needs to be there.
Maybe, it was the story line, which was just simple. I just don't know.
It is a good movie. Not average but good.! Fans of Hulk will no doubt love it, but like I said before, it just didn't do IT for me. that spark you need to light you up in a movie and make you remember it was there but that spark wasn't strong enough!
