Plot: Wealthy financier Nicholas Van Orton gets a strange birthday present from wayward brother Conrad: a live-action game that consumes his life.
A thrilling, twisting, Fincher film that requires a repeat viewing just to find out if it was really plausible. I am still left thinking that all of the coincidental pieces would have to fall just right for the plot to hold, but the first viewing is such a mind-trip, filled with a clever story and screenplay, spot-on direction, and strong acting.
Very well-made thriller that is entertaining, but seriously far-fetched when all is said and done. Michael Douglas is good as usual, and the story remains interesting throughout. Not as flashy as I was expecting from Fincher, but it still always looks great. Unfortunately, without giving too much away, the whole thing is just completely absurd in the end.
This movie has a great story. I thought I wouldn't like it but Michael Douglas gives a great performance in this. This film has a great ending.
Fantastic!!!! One of most innovative movies ive ever seen this one doesnt let go once it begins. A non stop thrill roller coaster that is a must watch.
This movie is why Fincher is one of my favourite directors. This is the third movie which I have watched directed by Fincher and every movie has left me wanting for more.
Although I have a strong grudge against Mr. Fincher he totally wasted Sean Penn in an inconsequential role. Otherwise the film was absolutely fantastic with superb performance from Michael Douglas.
It's a kind of a movie where there are two heroes Douglas and the script both planned meticulously and every detailing done superbly.
Technically the film is like most of Fincher's other movies: brilliant.
Douglas who plays the role of an egotistical control freak whose whole world seems to be falling apart with the loss of 600million$ after he joins a shady games company performs brilliantly. The colours used by Fincher stays true to his brand of cinema; dark and shady always suggesting that something is round the corner.
It's an absoulute pleasure ; the time of the movie brilliantly edited with not a scene going waste...
must watch !!!
