Not one of the best movies ever but very entertaining and definitely worth the watch if you like movies with dancing...a lot of dancing. Funny and sweet...I liked it.

MCT:November 1, 2008Australian ballroom dancer, Scott Hastings (Paul Mercurio) omes from a family with a history of ballroom dancing & has been training since childhood. His dancing partner Liz leaves him & finds a new dancing partner, & love, with the plain & ordinary dancing student Fran (Tara Morice). Scott & Fran dance the Paso Doble & they learned from Fran's Father and Grandmother.

MCT:October 18, 2008I am in reviewing this film in danger of dislocating my fingers trying not to use terms like 'lovely' which would make me seem more square than people who still use the word 'square'. That aside however this is a wonderful romantic film. It is part of Luhrmann's red curtain trilogy (together with Moulin Rouge and Romeo and Juliet) and it may even be the best of the three, or certainly challenging Molin Rouge for the title. To all you guys out there I will say that this is a bit of a chick flick, but why would you be afraid of that? Afraid you might cry? I dare you to see it, you'll probably thank me afterward, it really is good. Perhaps it should be said that this film is very different from Moulin Rouge visually, it's filmed in a more realistic manner. Now scurry off and see it.

One of my favorite movies ever. Wonderful dancing and adorable love story. Very highly recommended.
