this movie was bull crap.
i bet they spent soo much on this film that when it hit box office they didn't pay them to put enough effort in acting. what a let down.
Another tale of Man Vs Machine..
Somewhat similar to I, Robot in the way the main character refuses to acknowledge the machine or give it a chance.
I found it boring,
A team of three stealth fighter pilots test out a new machine in a flight but it malfunctions and starts randomly attacking countries and this could lead to World War 3.Which of course,it doesn't.
Not even the sight of Jessica Biel in tight clothes and a bikini and a few cool explosions could save this from being a bit shit.
wow i have just seen this movie 4 the 1st time n think that this is an pretty good movie 2 see...this has got a good cast of actors/actressess throguhout this movie....i think that the director of this Action & Adventure, Documentary, Drama movie had done a good job of directing this movie because you never know what 2 expect throughout this movie because the director of this Action & Adventure, Documentary, Drama movie keeps you on the edge's of your seats throughout this movie n u never know what 2 expect throughout....the special effects throguhout this movie are all pretty good throughout n the soundtrack is pretty good througout the movie as well..i think that jamie foxx plays a good part throughout this movie n jessica biel is really sexxi n beautiful throughout this movie
It wasn't completely awful...for the first hour. Saved mostly by some of the stylized action sequences, the first half isn't nearly as bad as the second half. Then it seems like they just stopped trying to make a coherent movie...too bad.
Jessica Beil could play anything and I would love it, but combine her with the technology of a computer taking control and you've got a real winner. A little slow and predictable towards the end though.
Not a bad movie - but certainly not great either. It was very predictable for the most part, and Jamie Foxx's talents were wasted in this. However, there are some very cool air combat sequences, and lots of explosions and gunplay to keep you awake.
Stealth fighter equipped with HAL9000 goes 'skynet' over its squadron after being hit by lightning. But it redeems itself, fighting again with the good guys, even after killing thousands of people with radioactive dust, causing the 3rd World War by invading Russia and North Korea and killing soldiers that were only defending their countries against an invader. 'Stealth' is pure military wet dreams with no regard for trivial matters, like "consequences of your actions." It is an insult to your mind.
Good action movie with three pilots but also interesting with the UCAV. The flight sequences and action scenes are pretty impressive.
Sometimes when you expect a movie to suck you get rather pleasantly surprised. Not really being a fan of jet fighter movies and having heard of rather bad reviews for this I didn't check it out for a long time but guess what? I was pretty well entertained. Sure, the story isn't much to write home about, although I must say that I didn't really see the direction of the second half of the movie coming. The flight sequences and action scenes are pretty impressive though and the effects together with some nifty camera tricks really neat. Also nice use of some kickass Incubus songs. So, rather silly but actually quite fun movie. Jessica Biel in a Bikini helped too.
pretty nice SciFi movie , nice effects on the plane , the action isn't quite captivating but it's worth to see this movie
I heard from many friends a co-workers that this movie was not good when it came out to theater and again when it hit video. I watched it today on-demand I was really impress. The acting and visuals were amazing. The truth behind the story was great. I could imagine myself right there in the cockpit as a co-pilot. I liked seeing the USS Abraham Lincoln on screen...not nearly as amazing as seeing it in real life. I didn't like the made up rooms that the studio created because they cannot get access on those rooms on a real Naval ship. I know this cause I was in the Navy and worked in the Operations Department. Great flick though.
U.S.A U.S.A -No, not for me. There was some good flying in this but there was also far too much american bullshit and hideous computer effects.
Josh Lucas + Jessica Biel + Jamie Fox Three perfect pilots ( Excellent Work ) It's all about ( Team Work )
2005 was one of the biggest years for action movies/blockbusters and Stealth was one of them. This movie just rocks and is one of the best fighter airplane movies of all time. I watched this for the first time a year ago and watched it again last night...A great cast including the prototype :) Jessica Biel need I say more :)
I caught most of it on tv. I thought it was a really awesome tv show. Then I found out it was just a sub-par movie. Kinda sweet if you like science fiction and fighter jets.
I was never going to watch this but I was flicking channels and sky broke so I ended up with this movie.
Really bad idea.
There were moments where it could have been quite cool (the plane looks fantastic and the acrobatic flying sequences are pretty cool if somewhat unbelievable) but it just doesn't meld together so it ends up falling apart.
Actually, scratch that, it doesn't even try to meld together in anyway of form. This movie doesn't know what it is at all!
It's predictable, boring, cliched, thrown together and really just down right awful.
And what's with the "oh let's throw in some lovey dovey for the girls" crap they're trying to pull with 2 of the leads? Do these people even like each other? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO chemistry, and the most ridiculous banter lines thrown in for good measure.
I actually can't believe I sat through it.
Shoot me now.
Directed by:Rob Cohen
Starring: Jamie Foxx, Josh Lucas, Jessica Biel, Sam Shepard, Joe Morton.
I knew that I shouldn't have watched this. I always had no interest in seeing it, because I knew what I would have endured...but when it was on when I turned the TV on and there was literally nothing else on, I watched...I asked for it.
The story follows a squadron of elite pilots in the Navy who seem to have it all, they are great friends, have great lives and work well together. The Navy soon develops a fourth wingman for the squadron...an artificial intelligence. Believed to be the future of modern warfare, it is smart and also learns from it's co-pilots in combat maneuvers so that it works as a team...but when it develops a mind of its own (WOW...really? I never saw that coming), they must stop it before it gets out of hand and starts destroying at will.
Rob Cohen, another recent 'go to guy' in Hollywood for action, he did a rather decent job with 'The Fast and the Furious' and 'XXX' in the way of keeping the action high and create reasonably compelling viewing...but what is he doing here? Not only does he cut and paste a lot of ideas and shots from his previous films, he also over stylizes with the spectacular CGI and everything is way to hyper and quickly cut that we can never enjoy any of it, it's all out of control for any balance...and it really lacks the intensity and compelling factor you would hope for and he resorts to explosions, just for the sake of it.
The screenplay, along with the story is so terribly tripe, predictable, muddled and ultimately, a waste. It follows the same old formula...we see the characters doing there thing (the brief outline), they meet there 'new wingman' (the situation), he turns bad (the problem) and they fix it in the most obvious way (the solution)...sure this maybe a typical structure, but it is one that works...but how you make it work makes all the difference, it doesn't here and also, everything has to be so terribly flawed and defy gravity in every way possible (we are meant to believe half of what they are able to do is real?). As you would expect, the screenwriter follows his dummies rule list and tries to add some development of the character...you know, to let us know who we are watching and try and add either an emotion core between them or a level of likeness...neither is given, instead we are shown, in a short amount of time (including the obvious points during the film where the action dies down), small sequences of what they are like...all while reading bullshit on the technical details of there work...you know, just to remind us that they are actually pilots...and not to mention the fact that they are boring as hell, supplied with very unrealistic dialogue (Who the hell says 'Pardon my C cup' to a guy who accidentally walks into her bra hanging on the line?).
The acting is as you would expect, especially with the characters they each have to work with. Jessica Biel is beautiful, no denying that (Oh yeah and to remind us of that, they put in bikini shot), but she seems to be picking roles (or maybe doing them to finish a 5-picture deal or something) that copies her image from previous films, that she is more of a boyish bad ass. She has always shown potential, yet she follows a similar formula for her characters tone and it isn't anything special at all. Jamie Foxx only works his style right with the right role and he sure can be an Academy Award winning actor...but with nothing to work with, he throws in his silly, shallow modern-aged attitude and humor and it just shows stupidity to the role. Josh Lucas...simple, he has no charisma or qualities to be in a leading role.
The moral of the story...don't trust machines...what I don't trust is that they have to make this as the big plot point of the film and never take it in any refreshing or original direction. I don't know what Hollywood tries to achieve with films, when they are always 60/40 with what they release (take a guess what takes the 60), but this continues a new low. Boring, predictable tripe that lacks intensity and is way too over stylized to be entertaining...and the fact that they have to insult my intelligence at the same time is the wrong way to go.
In the near future, the Navy develops a fighter jet piloted by an artificial intelligence computer. The jet is placed on an aircraft carrier in the Pacific to learn combat manuevers from the human pilots aboard. But when the computer develops a mind of its own, it's the humans who are charged with stopping it before it incites a war
going into watching expecting it to be a B-movie, turns out to be pretty good instead. the CG, the action and explosions, yadda yadda.
