I might sound biased because I absolutely love James McAvoy. I will watch anything he does! This movie is about life, how sometimes things are good and sometimes things are bad but you just have to keep on going. Picking yourself up off the floor and continue living. It has one of the most original climaxes I have ever seen. Its way beyond a romantic comedy although I could see how it would be viewed as one.

Brian Jackson (James McAvoy) attending his first year @ Bristol University obsessive collector of general knowledge, University Challenge since his childhood favorite game show called "Starter for Ten". Brian have something more in common with with a counterculturalist chum, Rebecca (Rebecca Hall).

Really good movie. I never even heard of it before but it was on HBO so I watched it. Really nice love story. Hated that Alice chick. Rebecca was such a better girl.

I liked this movie. Of course it is similar to some other teen movies - parents are dumb, learn about life at university, etc. I enjoyed the British take on it.

Liked this one a lot - I like anything with an 80's theme, generally, but this actually is very likeable and has some funny bits to it.

I disagree - you do not have to read the book to get a feeling for the film. It is an excellent film in its own right.

    Cracking soundtrack!

    In Between Days
    Boys Don't Cry
    The Lovecats
