The stunning conclusion to the Star Wars trilogy. The final conflict between Luke Skywalker and the showdown between Darth Vader and the Evil Lord is a must-see.
For the occasional dragging during this installment, I am tempted to blame not the runtime, but the content. Although the events are all integral to the film, the overall structure is kind of careless and as a result a few scenes in the middle go on a bit and become tedious, and that should never happen in Star Wars. That having been said, Episode VI is still a fantastic and far too exciting entry into the franchise, with an ending that will (and should) be envied by movies for centuries to come..
The Return of the Jedi was on of my favorite original Star Wars movies, it had the most action and the best lightsaber fights. I really liked the speeder fight on Endor and I would easily watch this movie again.
My personal favourite of the saga, and I'll tell you why. I loved the beginning with Jabba and his palace. Biggest highlight of the film is Lukes final duel with his father Darth Vader. Watched over by the Emperor, who's a sinister, evil, and cunning presence (played wonderfully by Ian McDiarmid). The final destruction of the Death Star, and battle of Endor is too great to pass on. The emotional connection and climax of the film as Luke holds his dying father in his hands is genius. A perfect end to the perfect Saga.
This movie showcased the power of a Jedi. First when Luke almost single handedly wiped out Jabba and his gang. Then when Luke defeated Darth Vader in a lightsaber battle, the Jedi had truly returned.
I thought this film was well good. well I thought it was a very good film anyway
Though I like Empire the best, this is still a very good star wars movie. All of them are good. If someone says they never saw star wars I would drag them to the tv, glue them to a chair, and make them watch all 6. Preferably the original trilogy, but I like them all... Especially episode 5... 6 is good too. It's star wars, what's not to like?
This was my least favorite in the trilogy, but I still loved it and probably viewed it 50 times. I think I was 15 when it was released. If I was able to change the film, the Ewoks would have been 86ed and replaced by Whookies on planet Kashiek. You just cant get much drama out of a teddy bear.
