Such a beautiful movie with Richard Gere and Jodie Foster acting like husband and wife. She thinks her husband died in the Civil War but soon after time passes it turns out hes not dead. The time hes been away things have changed with time.Catch the movie to find out what happens.Real good story.
Richard Gere and Jodie Foster have great chemistry. A very bittersweet sad love story. The courtroom scene towards the end could never be duplicated in it's brilliance.
And here's the kind of movie people suffer through when they're dating. I barely remember anything about this film but the boredom.
No matter how many times it comes on, I always like watching it. The film stars Jodi Foster as Laurel Sommersby, widowed due to the Civil War between the north and the south and Richard Gere as Sommersby who comes back from the war a changed man. Or was he ever the same to begin with? This movie is without a doubt one of my favorites.
Somewhat contrived and melodramatic, but solidly written by Nicholas Meyer of Star Trek II and VI fame. Features a gorgeous musical score by Danny Elfman, just listen to the French horn counterpoint during the final scene! It's awesome! Tries to answer the question: what would happen if you could impersonate a dead guy and then hump his pretty lonely wife???
This board looks lonely. Be the first to talk about "Sommersby" !
