A captivating film that has a decent plot and solid performances from its cast but it is a bit slow and drawn out at times and the script could be a bit more focused.

the actors did brilliantly at portraying very broken characters and for that i liked it but it was the most deprssing thing i've ever watched.

Dark and depressing drama of unraveled relationships and unraveled lives in one small town. Sad (very) but with very very fine performances by all, especially by Sam Rockwell.

A very beautiful, poetic, and hauntingly tragic movie. The best film I have seen this year without a doubt.

Even though she only has a supporting role, Amy Sedaris proves she can handle both the comedic AND the dramatic. Someone should give that girl a lead part in something. Ditto: "Why put yourself through such a sad movie, no matter how well it's made? Because movies this moving are rare birds that don't pass this way too often. 'We love you no matter what your job is,' a character tells her son. That's a love that this very humanistic (albeit dark) film asks us to extend to everybody, even those whose sins invite outrage and disgust."
