Plot: Snatch poses a very important question: Where is the stone? This is a caper about a diamond heist gone helter-skelter, the rough-and-tumble world of bare- knuckle boxing, an unpredictable Irish gypsy ...( read more read more... )and a dog. Double-crossing, double-bluffing and double-dealing abound as various parties pursue personal agendas-all of them illegal, some of them farcical and most of them involving an 86-carat diamond. As plans go haywire and tempers fray, dogs, diamonds, mobile homes, boxers and assorted weaponry get swept up into a chaotic free-for-all. The question is - who will emerge with the stone?

An impressive, wry, and clever heist-gone-wrong filled with juicy performances. Brad Pitt steals the show and the ensemble as a whole are equally memorable. The heist at its center is smart and fun to watch as well. Definitely worth checking out.

I have stones to sell, fat to chew, and many different men to see about many different dogs, so if I am not rushing you... Slow down, Franky, my son. When in Rome... I am not in Rome, Doug. I am in a rush.

Well I liked Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels better but it doesn't mean that I didn't enjoy this, Colourful characters, Snappy lines, Great cast & great perfs, from Jason Statham & Brad Pitt to Ewen Bremner in his small role, And ofcourse a cool story, Just like LS&TSB nothing seems unnecessary here

really really good. fantastic editing, great story, plus some awesome twists. the acting is superb, and the characters are really what make the film, but i found the subtleties to be the best part(s) of the film.

My Favourite Guy Ritchie Film, it is funny aswell as serious. Some of the techniques used throughout the film are unique and very effective. Dialogue through out is clever. Vinnie Jones is very violent and very funny. And Brad Pitts accent is amusing.

"You're always gonna have problems lifting a body in one piece. Apparently the best thing to do is cut up a corpse into six pieces and pile it all together.
And when you got your six pieces, you gotta get rid of them, because it's no good leaving it in the deep freeze for your mum to discover, now is it? Then I hear the best thing to do is feed them to pigs. You got to starve the pigs for a few days, then the sight of a chopped-up body will look like curry to a pisshead. You gotta shave the heads of your victims, and pull the teeth out for the sake of the piggies' digestion. You could do this afterwards, of course, but you don't want to go sievin' through pig shit, now do you? They will go through bone like butter. You need at least sixteen pigs to finish the job in one sitting, so be wary of any man who keeps a pig farm. They will go through a body that weighs 200 pounds in about eight minutes. That means that a single pig can consume two pounds of uncooked flesh every minute. Hence the expression, 'as greedy as a pig'."

    Snatch (2000)
    Directed by Guy Ritchie
Starring Jason Statham, Stephen Graham, Brad Pitt, Benicio Del Toro, Vinnie Jones, Dennis Farina, Mike Reid

«Turkish: Fuck me, hold tight. What's that?
    Tommy: It's me belt, Turkish.
Turkish: No, Tommy. There's a gun in your trousers. What's a gun doing in your trousers?
    Tommy: It's for protection.
Turkish: Protection from what? "Zee Germans"?»

Snatch is a comedy film that contains two main plots that intertwine. One of them involves a man called Frankie "Four-Fingers" who stole a very valuable diamond from Antwerp and brought it to London. But to his surprise, he isn't the only one who wants to get hold of this diamond. Another plot involves a man called Turkish who finds himself in debt to a psychotic local crime boss, Brick Top (infamously known for feeding those who fall out of his favour to his prized pigs), after his boxer Gorgeous George is incapacitated in a dispute with Mickey over a caravan. Forced to improvise, Turkish and his partner Tommy decide to acquire the services of Mickey, the same Traveller who knocked out Gorgeous George.

Snatch is a great comedy movie, which involves many typical hating stereotypes such as: Jews, gypsies the Russians, black people and the Germans. It is similar to another movie that Guy Ritchie directed called Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. The main storyline even resembles to Tarantino's famous drama movie called Pulp Fiction.

The cast did a great job. We get to know all the main characters straight from the start, and they all cross throughout the whole movie. The main character Turkish who was played by Jason Statham and his friend Tommy, played by Stephen Graham did some really terrific acting. Both had a really good mixture between them and their dialogues were incredibly funny. Brad Pitt played a gypsy, and it is a slightly different role for him, but he still managed to bring something special into this film. He was simply hilarious throughout the whole movie. Vinnie Jones was great as well; even when he was meant to be scary I couldn't help but to laugh at him.

The dialogues and the script were presented really well, the humour is great and even if you don't understand something, there is always a bit that will make you laugh.

Brilliant cast, great story, fantastic dialogues all that you will find in this movie. Guy Ritchie is not scared to show some typical stereotypes and mock them as much as he can. It's not offensive at all, because we know that there is the similar thing going on in the world. Pure comedy and the fans of the genre should definitely check it out.

The entire movie is quirky, and yet it also retains that serious side, but allthesame. The characters really make this movie entertaining like the Ocean's films.

I don't like the heavy british accents. You have to watch the movie 4 times to understand what they are saying.

I immensely enjoyed watching the movie in a theater yet not getting to hear anything about it beforehand. The director, Guy Ritchie was said to be critically hailed and Brad Pitt wanted so much to be a part of the movie and that was it.
There are just so many colorful characters that become suddenly have their lives intertwined by one piece of jewelry. It's a highly recommended film.

The thing that was kind of ironic with me when it comes to this movie was the fact that I saw this before I saw 'Lock, Stock and 2 smoking barrels.' Finally, when I saw Lock, Stock.... I didn't watch much of it because I didn't like it because it was too much like Snatch.

this film was actually soo funny!
it was a bit confusing as it jumped about alot and moved really fast, but i guess that is just the directors style!
that brad pit was amazing in his role and was a typically british gangster master piece. loved it !

What the hell's a Pikey? I think Brad Pitt just studied Newfoundlanders to pick up his accent... which, if true, only makes the acting and the character work he did MORE awesome.
