How does this have 4 stars??

OMG, i had to stop watching this.

First, cheadle and sandler are incompatible, IMHO. I can't see them as roomates in college and if they were, I can't see them as buddies.

Second, cheadle cares too much. Sandler is annoying and rude, and somehow cheadle acts like the dude is his brother.

The movie just dragged on. It may have gotten better, but 1/2 way through it was unbearable.

It may have worked out better had cheadle been white, IMHO. Or if there was real chemistry and not fake hollywood chemistry.

Sanctimonious nonsense. Tough to sit thru.

An emotional must-see for anyone who likes dramas or Adam Sandler.

I loved the fact that we got too see Adam Sandler outside of his normal bubble. While there were still more then a few parts that I laughed out loud at only because it's natural when Sandler is involved for the most part this movie was a serious-tear jerker in which Adam Sandler done just as well here as he does in comedies.

This movie focuses on emotional loss, friendship, hardship, and survival. It's one of the best dramas I have ever seen and all the actors nail there parts, especially the two leading roles.

Negatives: Where is the ending? I like the whole stop in the middle of the movie thing and let the audience decide what happens next - to a point it's obvious, but after an emotional movie such as this some people actually like to have a conclusion on what had happend and this movie fails to deliver one. If you hate sudden endings, you'll really hate this one.

Overall: The movie is great because it's a real-time drama that thousands of families have and will always remember. I could only imagine having a family member in the towers or planes and having to watch that scene over and over agan, I imagine it did drive people insane like it did the lead character in this movie. It's a movie that has the ability to really make you think about where you are at in life, what your last words should be to loved ones each time you walk out the door, and really just look at the "big" picture even when it seems like your posing for the small.

However, we like conclusions and this one has a sudden stop that basically could of occured at nearly any point in the movie and had no different effect. I would of liked too see it go on and become more developed, cut some scenes, and add some more conclusion scenes but all in all it's a great film that anyone whose heart is not made of stone will have a hard time not falling in love with.

I just saw this movie it was great i am not the biggest fan of dramas but i like the odd one, but this cast was brilliant and the story was touching it is sad to think that there really are people like charlie and i hope god gives them the strengh to make it through. The story did lack a little pace a little slow but it did have its funny parts for such a deep and moving movie. A must see!! sandler and cheadle should make another movie together they did a great good this time!! And i to was surprised at how well adam potrayed this role simply brilliant!!

When I first saw the commercials for Reign Over Me I thought it was a bad idea for a movie, but when I actually saw the movie I was so wrong.

Now there I was thinking that Adam Sandler could only act in comedy movies, because in those funny movies Adam acted in he was NOT serious at all. But when I was watching the movie I realized that he can act, like that he can really act. Not just to funny movies but to movies that had heart felt emotions in them.

Dude, Adam Sandler totally nailed the scene where he was telling Don Cheadle about his family. The crying looked like it had so much feeling into it, this has really taught me about not judging a book by its cover. Cuz you know on the outside Sandler looks like a funny guy, but to put that much emotion into the part of "Charlie" wow.
