I don't know the exact reason why the public won't stop bashing it. I thought it was pretty decent. Sandra Bullock played the role of a troubled woman pretty well. The two kid stars irritates me though (well most of today's childstars are creepily untalented and irritating). Julian McMahon is barely felt. Even though it has its flaws, Premonition still succeeds in emitting the needed thrills.

Sandra Bullock is one of my favorites...But you should quit thinking logically. There are too much holes in the plot and many actions didn't have a purpose...In spite of all the lack of logic I liked it, because of the rising tension and the ongoing riddle what's all this is about

Maybe it's like a DEJA VU if I make a conclusion about this movie but I didn't watched until finished, just Love Julian Mcmahon...

It's been a long time since I first drooled over Sandra Bullock in "Love Potion No 9" and "Demolition Man". She's now managed to settle nicely in middle-age while still looking like the cute 30 year old she was all those years ago.
Since the heady days of "While You Were Sleeping" and "A Time to Kill", she's struggled with consistency. For every "Speed" or "Miss Congeniality" there was a, uh, "Speed 2" and "Miss Congeniality 2". No, I'm not forgetting her career-best "Crash".

None of this gets me to the point.

"Premonition" - it does what it says on the tin. Linda Hanson (Bullock) is going about her day when a local sheriff (Marc Macaulay) tells her that husband Jim (Julian McMahon) has been killed in a car accident. Devestated by the news, Linda asks her mother (Kate Nelligan) to stay overnight and help her and her two kids.

The next morning Linda wakes up to find that it was all a vivid dream - her husband is alive and well and eating breakfast. But she can't shake the vividness of it all and she wakes up the following day to find that her days are alternating - and it's the day of Jim's funeral. Suspecting a hoax she forces the pallbearers to open the casket - it's no hoax.

Soon she works out that the premonition is very real and time is running out to save her husband's life. But with their relationship strained and a suspicion that he is having an affair with a colleague (Amber Valletta), Linda finds herself torn. Is letting someone die the same as killing them?

My hopes weren't high for "Premonition" given that the backwards-forwards plot winding has been done exceptionally well already in "Memento". But where edgy mysteries like this have fallen flat before ("Next") or run out of steam ("The Forgotten"), a well-directed plotline (albeit probably with holes everywhere) and thoughtful narrative carry "Premonition" through.

Bullock and McMahon perform well - in fact most of the cast do (Peter Stormare makes a welcome appearance too). It's interesting to see Bullock play a character who is essentially time travelling, piecing together clues and slowly realising what these clues might just mean.

Most of the credit should go to writer Bill Kelly and director Mennan Yapo who had no easy task in front of him. But he paces it well, unleashing subtle clues and plot twists that produce a layer of suspense throughout the film. It's not gripping but it's an intriguing 100 minutes or so.

If the ending was the opposite of what happened it would have been better, cause if you think about it..she just when through the whole week out of order......you already knew what happened so you didnt have anything to look forward to. I felt really bad when they dropped her husbands coffin D: that would be VERY traumatizing

Oh my this was such a brilliant movie. Suspense all through. It was so sad and heartbreaking. The actors did their parts so well it was like so REALISTIC. Which is what the Director aimed for. And a lovely DEEP message invovled too. A favourite movie for the year!!!

This was a really good movie... A little confusing in the beginning till you grasp whats going on but yet the kind of movie that makes you think about your life and the rights and wrongs the forgives and forgets.... And the meaning of Love and Family...

AWESOME, I love these kind of movies where you think & try puting all the pieces togther& it was even better than what I expected it to be. Sandar Bullock & Julian McMahon are so great especially Sandra she was so into the part as usual that you feel that you are part of the movie too. Evethough the ending is really sad but I loved the idea of the movie. How to love & Forgive & Most Importantly accept whatever happens in your life & Not try to change it or fight it. If you think again of how the movie ended & how he died you figure that if she didn't go after him then probably he wouldn't have died or he could have died in another way so It's really not in our hands.
I liked the script , the way the movie was directed & putting all the pieces together. A Great work of Art. I just loved it. Kudos to Sandra, she did it again.
