this a very good movie. I liked the way he killed the people. no using a gun and being creative on his method of weapon.

Les frères Coen sont fous fous fous, après Fargo, on est heureux de les retrouver en pleine forme. et que dire de javier bardem et de josh brolin.... une lutte sans merci et san..glante.

    Directed by:Ethan Coen, Joel Coen
Starring: Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Tommy Lee Jones.

    The Review:

Outstanding, yeah, this movie simply outstanding. Not dull nor dusty, thrilling, and beautifully directed by Coen Brothers.

    There're 3 main point why this movie is Outsanding;

    1. Coen Brothers are the director. Without them this movie would be a sleeping pil. Oscar for them? A fair trade.

    2. The situation on the movie is extremely good, even though there's only a few score heard in this movie, it created a perfect thrilling situation.

    3. Javier Bardem's performance. As the sociopathic hitman. Javier Bardem did extremely great to be one of the best villain ever. Receive an Oscar as the result.

    An one additional:

Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin, both of them played well, especially Josh Brolin. This movie will lift him.

As the result, we know that this movie earn an Oscar for best picture, and I think 2008's Oscars is in the right hand. The other contenders isn't as good as this. The closest contenders is There Will Be Blood, which unfortunately a little bit boring.

Well, I guess that's all. Here there's no place for "old man" to impress us.

    Moment:

Anton Chigurh killed rushed into romm 138, and killed every living things there.

    Quotes:

Carson Wells: Do you have any idea how crazy you are?
Anton Chigurh: You mean the nature of this conversation?
Carson Wells: I mean the nature of "you".

"I think you do. So this is what I'll offer - you bring me the money and I'll let her go. Otherwise she's accountable, same as you. That's the best deal you're gonna get. I won't tell you you can save yourself, because you can't."

Saw this with 4 usually cinema-chattering buddies - they all sat spellbound through to credits and beyond. This says something - that air-powered cannnister head puncturing devices leave you trully done over - what about the dude's hair style?? Fear not the affects of page-boy withdrawl - he WILL re-appear soon. No fecking producer worth cat's sh*t is going to pass on the opp to build on this one. Go Mr Holloywood bank-roller - more of this sh*t has gotta happen. Whew

Return to form for the Coens. Ranks alongside Miller's Crossing, Fargo and The Big Lebowski as one of their best films.

Hmmm...sad to say I found it thoroughly dark...with some dark humor thrown in...Woody Harrelson was memorial as the dudded up "cleaner" hit man hired to hit the psychopathic/drug dealer gone awry.

Josh brolin's death killed the thrill of the movie. until then it was very nice. I think atonem, ent deserved the oscar better.

People who didn't like this film, don't know what they are saying. You are not a fan of film if you say this is not a good film.

I haven't seen No Country (yet), but on InfamousHugo's statement: like you say, you don't have to love a film for it to be good. I mean, I didn't particularly enjoy Titanic or The Godfather but they're still great pieces of cinema. Perhaps what other commenters are saying is that they just didn't enjoy it or were bored, not that the film itself is badly made.

Do people really lack intelligence or is it that they absolutely need giant robots to say a film is good ? This film is deep on so many levels, its a masterful piece of art, not some garbage piece of easy entertainment. Go get your brain when you left it last time you used it and try telling me this isnt such a good film. Im not saying you have to love it, but at least you cant deny its a great piece of cinema. By the way, Transformers ISNT. What kind of world do we live in ?

Unfortunately "No Country For Old Men" falls into the "All Hype and No Sizzle Trap". Although it gets kudos for going against the norm as being not like every other plot and character development. For instance, how you think that certain characters would play a main role and there would be some sort of big show down in the end. I myself would have like to seen "Into The Wild" as a contender for "Best Picture" at the Oscars. For the winner it should have been "Atonement".

It was so boring. Fell asleep near the end of the movie or probably 30-40 mins left in the movie. I see the plot of the movie Read the great reviews, but was disappointed half way thru the movie. All I saw in the movie was a guy finding drugs, money and running away from the guy thats after him. I was going like "Whaa...?" 10-15 mins into the movie. The acting was good, but thats about it. This movie was not theater or rental worthy.

Honestly I find it weird when people think the ending didn't end it. I thought it ended fine and everything was finished. He obviously went back and got the money from the hotel. He had to come back after killing Josh Brolin's Character, thats why the guys in the bronco were leaving so fast. He is in there when Tommy Lee Jones comes in, because he was there getting the money.
