One of the better sequels made for any movie. Just as good as the first one, though the originality was stolen from the first.

Fun car chase. Mayan/ Aztec/ Olmec (couldn't decide which one throughout the movie) gold in South Dakota, though? How weird is that? I notice they didn't say a thing about Mount Rushmore being in the Midwest...

Well its a sequel and I found it, if its possible, more unbelievable than the first but for some reason its stll a good family friendly action flick so you can't fault it for that. And kudos for a banger cast this time around.

National Treasure Book Of Secrets was rather to slow moving and boring. It was very good language and had nothing to worry about for children. I was not looking to forward going into this. I was just planning on seeing it with low hopes. Sure enough I was correct. Im not one of those people who need explosions and car chases every second in a movie, but when I went to see this I wished for more action. If you were a fan of the first one though you will most likely be a fan of this one. It was good for people that are very old and just like to relax or for kids. It was kind of hard to follow for young kids but fun for them. The acting was pretty good but not the best. The visuals were pretty nice. I liked the places where they filmed this movie. Their was even a few laughs as well that helped this movie. Overall this was not the best but it wasn't horrible. It just wasn't my type of movie.

i loved the first movie, thanks to Sean Bean's bad guy and Harvey Kietel's fed. But the relationships between the main characters was what made the second flick worth the watch.

Really good. More great effects than the first. however there is a car chase in there that is so unrealistic that it is retarded. If there really was a chase like that the cops would have been there and stopped it. Other than that great movie.

Not as good and thrilling as the first. Nicolas Cage, Diane Kruger, Justin Bartha and Harvey Kietel is very good though. But the storyline should've been better.

If you liked the first movie, you will definitely like this one as well. Not quite the same amount/type of suspense as part one, but still pretty interesting and ingenious in a whodunit kinda way...

A few 'yeah right' moments, but mostly it was well written.

I want to buy both of these, but I will wait til they hit the 5 dollar rack at Walmart, lol.

Not as good as the first one is what I will say straight off. Whilst the first one was nothing special, I was hoping for an improvement but didn't receive it. Yes, it is still fun, but not as fun as the first one. The main problem with this is how long it takes to actually get any action, forty minutes in to be exact. The first forty mintues just about have enough to keep you intrested, but if it had stayed like that, this would have ended up as a two star movie. It starts off with a re-inactment of the Lincoln assassination (which could have been better with more work put in). Then we get to the Gates guys, Nicholas Cage and dad Jon Voight, at a coferance thig that you don't really pay attention to. Then up pops Ed Harris who claims he has a piece from a missing diary which proves that Cages' great great Grandaddy was an accomplice in Lincoln assassination. This, of course, makes Cage want to prove his familys innocence, which coincedently links to a secret treasure! What follows is some pretty routine clue collecting thats just really the same as the first one. Then, forty minutes in, you get the first bit of action a car chanse. The car chase is pretty good but not good enough for the wait. The cast, more so Cage this time round, make it entertaining until the action gets going. One part I didn't really like was the London part, God did it take the mick out of the way we speak and really stereotyped the policemen. The script didn't help, for example, the part when the secruity cameras are shutting down the conversation goes "Whats happened," secruity man replys "I haven't the foggiest!" Oh dear. dear, dear. That really pissed me off abit actually, bloody yanks! The clues are alot more complicated this time around as it goes from trying to prove his old families innocence to finding a book with the nations secrets to finding a city of gold that is hidden by Mount. Rushmore which is apparently a cover up! Why the title is book of secrets i don't really know, its more of a subplot to all other sub plots. I suppose it sounds better than Natioal Treasure: The Great Great Grandaddy Conspiracy. The big set piece near the end is pretty cool and really does have that essence of fun that was missing from the beginning. Jon Voight and Helen Mirren look like they are having the most fun, mostly because I reckon they're only in it for the money! The ending does hint at another one, ut I really don't think they should, only if they can be absolutely sure they can top these ones. Which, really, is probably impossible to guess. Go and watch Indiana Jones instead!

National Treasure: Book of Secrets reminds me of a sequel from the '80s, where all the filmmakers tried to do was rehash everything from the first movie, hoping that would pass muster with the audience. This film is pretty much the same as its predecessor, except that the principle characters are well-acquainted with each other this time, so they can cut right to the chase. Puzzles seem to be solved even more easily here; Nicolas Cage does his usual Nicolas Cage thing; there's a car chase plus a lot of sneaking around and so forth. As before, the saving grace of the movie involves how it seems to embrace its own nerdiness by making heroes out of people whose most admirable attribute is their vast knowledge of the facts of the past. Book of Secrets is passable entertainment, a family-friendly globe trot that features, as its most impressive set piece, a trap in which four people must balance a giant board resting only on a central pivot. Outside of that, little seems to be designed to make a lasting impression, though the movie may achieve its modest goal of providing mild fun.

Another typical Jerry Bruckheimer flick, in which the four cornerstones are (as always) corny humor, a preposterous story, cringe-worthy patriotism and clichéd characters. It still worked well as mindless fun though and I did enjoy it slightly more than the first movie, even though it's basically just more of the same.

Most of the jokes were pretty lame and unfunny, due to the nature of the very mediocre script, but it's definitely worth a watch nonetheless. I just get a bit annoyed when a movie tries to be more clever than it is, because in the end, this is nothing more than The Da Vinci Code for dummies.

I would probably have liked it better if I was twelve or so, but as someone who has seen this type of story over and over again, it just leaves a bit too much to desire. But like I said, it worked well as a popcorn movie and was pretty entertaining, despite its many flaws.

Absolutely brilliant - I loved it! As good as, if not better, than the first! Who cares if the plots are realistic or not - the ideas (the twin desks and the combination) are very clever and it keeps you entertained the whole movie. Can't wait for the next one!
