movie is kinda twisted if you are not offended by gays and pedophiles then watch this movie if you are bored. it was stupid and i did not understand why it was even written or turned into a film!!
This movie had everything: pedophilia, prostitution, homossexuality, incest, rape, aliens... It's one of those movies who can't be considered great by Hollywood because it breaks so many taboos.
But I liked it because it is unusual and shows some realities about the world. Plus, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a great actor, he did good =) But people should be warned that there are some very disturbing scenes in this scene and it might make you uncomfortable. I'm not even talking about the sex scenes, but about the pedophilia scenes. God! I looked away when those scenes came up, because I just wanted to choke the guy who was doing that to the poor innocent kid who was corrupted for life. It really was disturbing.
This was really good and interesting but disturbing at the same time. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is amazing.
Mysterious Skin doesn't contain quite as much depth as it does intrigue, but definitely delivers on an emotional scale. I don't know much about it, but I'm not sure that victims of sexual abuse were given much credit by this script, but it did give some insight on how some may or may not deal with it. The movie follows two boys who as young kids experienced sexual abuse and as they grew into adults struggled with their trauma in two very different ways. Gordon-Levitt, as usual, stole the spotlight in this movie, but Brady Corbet played a very convincing role as well. The supporting cast wasn't bad, but nothing memorable. One thing to keep in mind before viewing is that there are some graphic and disturbing scenes, that are at best, uncomfortable to watch. Overall though, this was a good movie, with a lot of interesting outlooks on the trauma that abuse victims deal with.
A dark flash and there you go.Araki enters the independent sphere with a naturally eclectic movie, unconventional and open-minded as many reviews exclaim.Excellent imagery and a retribution for all those actual innocents, nothing pretentious about justice.
this movie kinda opens your eyes more you know that stuff is out there but you never know much is turely messed up and if this has ever happened to anyone then i feel really sorry because nothing like that should ever have to happen to anyone it makes me feel strongly about people like that whom do that to young kids should be killed it's unforgiveable
i was very suprised with joseph in this movie. very good thought he was amazon
I reccomend that you watch it! It's really good, although sad it's visually and emotionally demanding and very well done.
