Toula Portokalos' family from the suburbs of Chicago promotes exactly three traditional values - "Marry a Greek boy, have Greek babies, and feed everyone." From an early age, she is mortified by their patriotic 'over-the-top' ways. When she falls in love with Ian, a WASPy non-Greek, Toula struggles to get her family to accept her eager fiance while she herself comes to terms with her heritage, her cultural identity, and their meddlesome ways.

this movie truly scares me as to how accurate it is to european parents and their children's love life and weddings

Well, I hate this movie. And to compound this, for about a year after it came out my semi-retarded boss would repeatedly ask me, 'Have you seen the Greek wedding?' and go into a description of the movie that a 4 year old on 'Kids Say The Darnedest things' would get booed and called a dummy to its face by Bill Cosby for.

I don't remember being too impressed with this movie, and I don't care to watch it again to remember what I don't remember now about it.

This was a new take on an old premise, and it was a lot of fun...

Oh, and the dad and the window cleaner cracked me up...
