Plot:
I saw this movie on cable the other day, for the seven hundredth and fifty fourth time it seems. I adore this movie. It is exactly what is says it is, a time honored love story.
Every time I see this film, I feel like I'm falling in love with Oliver and Jenny all over again. Even though I have seen it countless times, I always have to have my box of Kleenex handy.
How can you not love a film, who gave us the immortal line " Love means never having to say you're sorry." If only it were that simple.
Such a simple, happy, sad, nice little drama, it's a pretty good movie, but it could have been better. I liked O'Neal's acting better than MacGraw's though. It's a bit short when you look back at it, but it's enjoyable and sweet.
Schmaltzy, sappy, and kind of stupid but it has that irresistible romantic charm that few romances have these days.
Predictable and corny, but so simple and sincere you just want to hug the movie lol. Seriously, a beautiful little film, though I didn't liked it a lot, I think the impact in 1970 was huge.
Alli MacGraw is awful. And this movie in the 70's might have been good, but now is just plain awful.
An uncomplicated love story between two star-crossed lovers students, a sentimental, romantic tearjerker film that will surely makes you cry.
i love this movie.. all my teardrops out.. :-( especailly the tagline " LOVE MEANS NEVER HAVING TO SAY YOU'RE SORRY"
a touching story which as you might expect is about love! young love between a rich millionaires son and a talented but not so rich girl, the girl sacrifices her career as a musician to be with her true love and he sacrifices his fathers inheritance! its well acted and emotional but far too cheesy at times i felt but thats all part of the ovie, i was expecting it. the cheesiest but classic line linked to this film being "love means never having to say your sorry" part of me felt it was touching and sweet and another part of me burst out laughing! which is why the rating isnt higher! nonetheless it was enjoyable and def worth a watch.
what a wonderful love story..i'll never forget the character of oliver barett...this is an inspirational drama that leave a lump in your throat....
A superb classic movie. A heart-rending story of romance and love, and a tragedy so dark you would want to die inside. You need a bucket of popcorn when u watch this, as you will use the bucket for ur river of tears after.
A parody of itself...
Do i really care if she dies at the end? No...cause throughout the whole movie she was obnoxious and completely unlikeable...love means never having to say you're sorry????!!!!! That's the stupidest thing i've ever heard! Two stars for the hilarious music!!!!
I dont think I have seen this but will check it out seeing as they are comparing it with"A Walk To Remember" My favorite love Story.
YOU ARE MY SWEETEST DOWNFALL.....................................I LOVED YOU FIRST...............................I LOVE YOU FIRST........
Remember the scene where Oliver finds out she's dying and he's walking along to the theme song played by car horns?
okay... call me a softie, but this thing really hits the spot... especially when you're depressed. watch it and I guarantee you'll want to jump off the next bridge you come across.
This is a classic. It is very good yet I am suprised to see it here. It is so old I can't believe that it has had a resurection and it is not good enough to achieve permanent glory like say "Casablanca." The end of it brings tears to everybody, absolutely everybody. Ryon O'Neal is very good in the lead and the young lawyer and Ali MacGraw is goreous although she gives the most camp and perhaps worst line in cinema history. Still a very good movie and worth seeing if you've never seen it before.
Omg..the memories..saw this movie so long ago..It is a great movie!!! Romantic..and sad..so sad, but making u really appreciate love..and life..and everyday..all and everything you get and have!

Just what the title says this is a love story. A young couple that has the whole world ahead of them, but their world tumbles. How they deal with it all. Great acting.
films like this always make me think about my love life, if it will ever be tragic or have an happy ending
I never got all the hype about this movie...it was cheezy and way over dramatic. Too drawn out, and Ryan O'Neal is a lousy actor.
I was surprised to find it REALLY isn't too bad at all! It does rather decay in the last act, but it's pretty strong nevertheless (except maybe for the mediocre screenplay and Ryan O'Neal, whom I intensely dislike)
