Christopher McCandless: [written into book] Happiness only real when shared.

(In and of itself,How powerful and profound is that?)This is movie was so much more than I expected.A real journey,a breaking free from everything.Emile Hirsch has a whole new respect in my book, any actor thats willing to drop alot of weight for films is pretty dedicated.I also read some other interesting things on IMDB.Anyway this is a very emotionally driven movie. It was so sad at points with his family that was left behind,so utterly broken from his 'disapperance'.Only his sister really understood him.He met some unconventional characters along the way,he had fun,he had an amazing adventure and this man saw things in this world most of us will never ever, even get close to.He found the beauty in the simplicity of just being. This is a beautiful but tragic true story this is highly recommended =)

A really compelling and amazing true story, I loved how dedicated the lead actor seemed to be with portraying his character, once you've seen the movie and see the shocking appearance of Chris at the end, I really give props to Emile for putting his body through that, his appearance was jaw dropping, but it made Chris' story even more powerful.

Literally breathtaking. Penn's foray into the gaze of the world from youth is a compassionate look at life and the aspects of learning.

I'm speechless right now. The film is beauty, tenderness, and feels so real.

    ...more soon.

"The sea's only gifts are harsh blows, and occasionally the chance to feel strong. Now I don't know much about the sea, but I do know that that's the way it is here. And I also know how important it is in life not necessarily to be strong but to feel strong. To measure yourself at least once. To find yourself at least once in the most ancient of human conditions. Facing the blind death stone alone, with nothing to help you but your hands and your own head."*

They cheated this film out of the Oscars. It is by far, one of the most heart wrenching films that has ever existed. Just put your whole heart into it, and it will give much in return.
