MCT:August 10, 2008A highly adventuorous story based on treasures found in the bed of the sea after storms. This story begins as a storm hits an aeroplane which had drugs in it , as it had sunken to the bottom it is the group consisting from Paul Walker, Jessica Alba, Ashley Scott and Scott Caan who find it ! This event makes the group in high danger as the owner of the aeroplane with the drugs wants his drugs back. At the end we encounter a surprise !

Good movie...
Beautiful Scenery, Moderate Adventure, Exciting...
Paul Walker and Jessica Alba play a struggling young couple living in the Bahamas. Friend Scott Caan shows up with latest girlfriend Ashley Scott, and when the four go diving they find buried treasure. Not only do they find a recent plane crash filled with drugs, but also a long lost pirate ship rumored to contain gold. "Into The Blue" is wonderfully shot, with beautiful scenery of the water and diving, and it's barely dressed actors. The film drifts around for it's first hour or so without too much going on. Most of the movie at first consists of the two couples arguing over what to do with the lost treasure. Caan and Scott, playing the selfish couple want to take the drugs immediately, while the more responsible couple(Walker and Alba) want to go about things the right way by filing a claim. Then the film really picks up at the end leading to a very exciting, and surprisingly violent final half hour.
I enjoyed that. -
MCT:August 2, 2008Not so good. Sure there is four young and sexy maincharacters here. But the story and all the other thing is pretty poor. Josh Brolin though is really good in this movie. It's a shame than that he got so little time to show of his great acting.

Don't hate me guys, but I love this pic! It has the ocean, the Bahamas and Jessica Alba. Buried treasure, a drug lord and Jessica Alba. The filming of the free diving was very good...and the sharks...and Ashley Scott and...Jessica Alba. I was aggrivated that Josh Brolin didn't have a better role in the film, instead, he played your standard bad guy. But a fun film!

The Deep- 28 yrs later.With some improvements:better-looking actors,more skin,beautiful tanned bodies-eye candy for men and women alike,better cinematography-gorgeous underwater scenes,more threats and violence;some minor differences( it's Bahamas not Bermuda,cocaine,not morphine,more sharks and no moray eels,some white villains among the black ones) but with the same simplistic plot,shallow characters and predictability.A summer movie,the equivalent of a day at the beach if you can't afford a trip to Bahamas...However,I think The Deep was better...at least it was better acted...

A rather undecided film. It wants to be a thriller, action movie, treasure hunt and doesn't really succeed in any of those genres over the full length. Sure, it shows some nicely formed bodies of both sexes swimming in beautiful waters and all that's really nicely filmed, but is that enough to keep an audience not infatuated with the actors watching? The plot jumps back and forth between those different attempts, the humor isn't exactly very funny and there isn't much action to talk about up until the decent showdown. The movie isn't boring either. It just simply isn't much to write home about, despite of all the beauty.

I reckon Jessica Alba used this movie as a follow of candid ass shots to cash in on her sexy success in the far superior Sin City. Shame she's pregnant though, I guess that just goes to show she's not a virgin afterall huh? Anyway, Into the Blue Isnt much on the acting, with the exception of Josh Brolin, and is pretty much a 2 hour scuba diving trip with a plot blanket thrown over the top of it. I hate Paul Walker. The end.
Justins Best Bit: If you look closely when the bearded guy pulls Alba under the water, he has a quick grope of her boobie and exposes her nipple ever so breifly. Score! Then his junk gets chomped by a tiger shark, which sucks to watch. -

One of the main reasons I saw it was for the fact of Tresure Hunting underwater ("without a Oxygen mask" holding your breath) but mostly to see Paul Walker/Scott Caan in great looking swimsuits and the Environment is awesome and beautifui also.
