saw this on the BIG screen. its funny but not hilarious. they tried to had a joke in evry 5 mnts of this film n alot of tyms it jus didnt work. now the action. waznt gud enuf this part i thot. lets put it this way, its an OK action comedy, but no way near as good as Johnny English.

This modern retelling of a classic TV show is just that, classic. Steve Carell shows why he is one of the funniest people on the planet today and everyone else supports him in that light. Anne Hathaway is simply stunning, at least to look at.

Steve Carell at his best! Don't miss it if you are a fan. Very nice adaptation from the series, respecting its heritage and refreshing it a bit as well

Absolutely hilarious. Absolutely outstanding cast. Perfect balance of comedy, action. Brilliant and funny from beginning to end. Steve Carrell played his part very well, as well as Anne Hathaway.

When Siegfried (Terence Stamp), the leader of KAOS, engineers a massive plan to sell nuclear weapons to all of America's enemies, it's up to the agents of CONTROL to stop him. However, almost all of those agents have been assassinated, forcing The Chief (Alan Arkin) to promote analyst Maxwell Smart (Steve Carell) to spy duty as Agent 86. Paired with Agent 99 (Anne Hathaway), the duo partake in a little globetrotting to sniff out KAOS's plans, while a peculiar competitive/romantic chemistry forms between them. When matters go from bad to worse, it's up to 86 and 99 to thwart KAOS's evil scheme and save the world from certain doom. Carell makes for a fine Smart, picking up nicely where Don Adams left off, though a resuscitation of Adams's more famous catchphrases feels a little superfluous. Carell finds new verve inside of the character, removing his dim-wittedness and replacing the void with an intriguing confidence. The actor is home with Smart, sharing pleasing chemistry with Hathaway and Arkin and, aside from the painful series references, makes the character his own.
Maxwell Smart: "I think it's only fair to warn you, this facility is surrounded by a highly trained team of 130 black op snipers.
Siegfried: I don't believe you.
Maxwell Smart: Would you believe 2 dozen Delta Force commandos?
Siegfried: No.
Maxwell Smart: How about Chuck Norris with a BB gun."
Get Smart movie pays its obeisance to the fans of the original by packing in a maximum number of references to the series; appearances from familiar supporting characters like Larrabee, Hymie, Agent 13, Siegfried and Shtarker, even of Max's car from the original to cameos from some of the still living personnel behind the series. There's the inevitable appearance of the famous shoe phone at the end, even a slightly technologically updated version of the opening credits sequence entrance to CONTROL Hq. -

Usually I don't like these kind of movies, but Get Smart is an exception. "Steve Carell"-humour tend to have some laughable moments but this one is actually consistently funny. And, not to forget, you get to see Anne Hathaway.

MCT:September 26, 2008This just might be Steve Carell's worst movie...at least so far. Most of his other movies I have liked but this one I didn't. It had a few funny parts hence the two stars but otherwise it would be half a star. It is boring and you can't wait for it to be over. It was supposed to be a Comedy but wasn't funny nor did it have much action either. It's not worth your time.

MCT:September 25, 2008well not all too! I fell asleep there were a few semi funny parts. I thinin the wrestler kali is in it. (ug & the line in the movie that he looks like an easter Island head.. LOL he does kinda look like one! his chin sticks out so far like their?s hang down! Go out anspend the $40 for the actual series dvds! (or however the Blue ray would cost!

Pretty funny movie, due mostly to Steve Carrell's brilliant comic delivery. The plot and dialogue aren't always great, but Carrell is a joy to watch and there are enough good laughs to be well worth it.

Steve Carrell is the best and even ppl who say hes a stupid comediant i dont think so..
Anne is as beautiful as ever and this movie is a good recalled to the original tv show...
good and nice to watch!
