Interesting movie with a good plot and plenty of suspense, but it's just too heavy and too hard to watch. Just so much pain and hatred, you start thinking 'When's he gonna start paying them back all the pain they've caused him'. Nevertheless a good movie to watch once, or perhaps 2-3 times max. Good acting too.
Though I must say this movie has some of the most annoying bad guys, which is both good and bad.
Oh and they should've developed the ending a bit, because the movie just ended with lots of loose ends.
Good movie. Harrison Ford is always excellent as usual in his films. Great story. Well worth a watch.
Plot:

When a ruthless criminal mastermind kidnaps his family, Jack is forced to find a flaw in his system and steal $100 million. With the lives of his wife and children at stake and under constant surveillance, he has only hours to find a loophole in the thief's own impenetrable system of subterfuge and false identities to beat him at his own game.
My Taking:
Amazing! Loved every minute of it! Paul Bettany as outstanding as the role of Bill Cox, the master operator for all the chaos brought into Jack Stanfield's (Ford) life. Harrison Ford was great too, as usual, as the quick-thinking family-man that saves the day! (Not really a spoiler right? Anyone could have guessed) A fantastic movie that is going straight to my favorites.
A formulaic suspense thriller that didn't really provide enough suspense or thrill. Poor old Paul Bettany, it really is hard to be a scary, threatening kidnapper in a '12' certificate film with only one use of strong language and moderate violence at your disposal. There were plenty of incoherent plot twists and far-fetched techno solutions that McGuyver would have been proud of. You really can save the day with an ipod.
It was just another Harrison Ford potboiler that really felt like he did it to keep himself busy whilst waiting for that call from George and Steve telling him to find his whip and fedora.
Great movie, suspence and all, Harrison Ford played his role extremely well. It makes you want to watch it till the end to see what happens
Hats off to Mr. Ford, Had me on the edge of my seat, action packed, wonderful screen play. Will be getting a copy of this one.
you can quote me on this, "another harrison-ford-time-crunch-save-you
r-ill-fated-family-youre-almost-out-of-time" movie."
Saw this for a class and it was really interesting!!! The bad guys in this movie take identity theft to a whole new level.
I cannot believe that Mr. Ford is agree to this moive. The stroy is gerat at the begining, but end with a flob.
Good movie. Typical Harrison Ford flick. I like him tho, so I thought it was worth my time. I'm sure I will watch it again.
Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that Harrison Ford makes a lot of mediocre movies. This movie has a weak plot, weak characters and is thus a weak movie.
slow. uneventful. great script performed well by a cast that seemed to work well together. the dramatoc build up to the ending flopped to a boring cliffhanger.
there is no doubt that Paul Bettany was the best actor in this film, Harrison Ford seemed bland as always. It was still a great film i really liked the plot. But as i said Bettany's character was the best one, he had so many memorable lines such as "THEY'RE IN THE GARAGE!" or "Liam take the boy downstairs and brake his knee" great stuff like that. Also one of the best but as most random scene was with one of the more minor character Bobby when he's playing bass with this choir in church, that was priceless.
The movie was an average movie. There were some real dumb parts though... overall, it wasn't too great.
Run of the mill thriller made durable by Ford and Bettany. But little lingers in the mind once you finish the film.
This was his best film but I liked it saw it in the theater and like most Harrision Ford films you find yourself screaming for him to kick @#&* yea!!!
this movie was better then one would expect......okay, well the fight between grandpa Ford and much younger Bettany was a laugh riot, but it was an entertaining movie none-the-less. "Want a cookie?"
Not as i expected but better. Harrison Ford is an incredible actor i don't know i've always though that. Seeing Harrison Ford back in action was an added bonus. He can definitely still bring it. It was great to see him back on the big screen as feisty as ever still kicking butt. Can hardly wait for his newest movie and we all know which one that is, Virginia Madsen wuuuuwiii she can also act, but she truly caught my attention in the movie Sideways. There's not much to talk about this one 'cuz it hasn't made such an impression on me, but the story is interesting though and keeps you seated but deffinetly the actors performances is more appealing than the movie itself.
This is actually a pretty good movie. Harrison Ford takes on the role as Jack Stanfield; a devoted family man and passionate employee in bank security. He's the man safeguarding your money and identity against hackers and thieves.
Then, on a dark and rainy evening, his world is turned upside down when his family is kidnapped. The suspense escalates through out the film and the action doesn't really hit until the end but the build up to it, is decent. The end was a bit predictable and very abrupt...
It felt like an old school Harrison Ford movie when he'd play Jack Ryan. I always enjoy Paul Bettany too.
Ford proves he can still pack a punch, but this cyber-crime flick could have done well without all the technical mumbo jumbo.

Anyone else notice that this movie had absolutely nothing to do with firewalls? The title kinda throws you off, don't you think?
