Plot: A slacker (Braff) is forced to work for his father-in-law after his pregnant wife (Peet) steps away from her high-paying job.
So funny, Zack Braff and Jason Bateman were so funny in this movie!! If you want a laugh check this one out.
Apparently, there are two versions of this film. The funny one, and the other one. Why in a god's name would anyone cut all the good parts out, is beyond me, but someone did it. In fact, as it turns out, those versions are so profoundly different, they can be regarded as two different movies all together. You can see a list of all scenes that were cut out on imdb. Honestly, they make all the changes.
Anyway, I got to see the uncut one, and I must say, this movie is hilarious! I love it.
See this movie, when your in the comedy mood.Great cast,Plus anytime you can get bitchslapped with a Pork Chop, you are really going somewhere.Paul Rudd,Zach Braff and Jason Bateman just a few of the great cast members,Soooo funny,Thumbs up for this one!!My type of comedy right here Baby!
Occasional funny parts, but to be truthful, most moments of laughter were included in the trailer and that had made it look a much funnier film than it actually was. There were some really odd parts and it most definitely had it?s fair share of cringeworthy parts too. Come on Zach Braff, we know you can be funnier than this!!!!

This movie was one of the funniest romantic comedies I have seen - lots of laughs - this movie fits the bill if you want a easy-to-watch comedy. Jason Bateman was especially funny in his role as the ex. The only downfall was perhaps the predictable ending but well worth the watch for entertainment value.
Zach Braff charms in this fun comedy,Bateman once again proves his worth in comedy, slightly stupid but a bit of fun.
It has a good cast but they are all wasted. Hell, they aren't even that good here. Jason Bateman has been better in other of his recent movies. Like Hancock and Juno for example. While Zach Braff has been funnier in Scrubs, his acting has been been better in the show as well.
It also would be sad that Charles Grodin was wasted in this if he wasn't already in that horrible movie Clifford.
Really great comedy movie. Was funny too. I can't believe that guy could walk. What a douche bag!! The ending of this movie was really nice. I would watch this movie again.
but dissapointing, i thought it would be funnier but ah well. still a nice film to see once. zach braff has his hillarious moments, its just not his best piece.
the cast are quite good.
interesting enough story. its just nothing special.
Wow, it's get easily goring.. Some ideas have already been used, bu there way to do it in a fun way but.. It's not the case here. A bad comedy.
If they had gotten anyone else besides Zach Braff, this would've been a 4-star Comedy.
The rest of the cast is great.
This movie is fun to watch. Its a pretty simple plot and some scenes are over the top but it does have a lot of laugh out loud moments. Zach Braff and Charles Grovin give solid performances. It's definatly worth watching but probably not something you'd add to a classic collection of comedies.
This is quite an interesting movie. You cannot help but to feel bad for Zach Braff's character and the mess he gets himself into - he's quite an unlucky guy. Whereas Jason Bateman's character is a creepy jerk. He really annoyed me but this shows that he's done a good job playing his part.
Funny movie. Nothing exceptional, but I enjoyed it. I liked the relationship between the two main characters. It seemed believable and relatively healthy, which you don't see in many movies today.
Fun little comedy with some genuine laughs and a very watchable cast. Sadly Braff has done much better work and is forced to resort to pratfalls a little too often. The nicest surprise here was to see Charles Grodin back on screen. Very user friendly and worthwhile, if only to see Zach Braff throw a crippled Jason Bateman down a flight of stairs. Nice harmless, lighthearted fun, but that's about it. Look for the lovely Amy Adams as a very weird, new age mother.
A fun comedy that doesn't get too "loud" or crosses the line to being annoying, a lot thanks to the cast who are "just loud enough".
l'm not into comedies but this is pretty funny. Saw it on a cruise one time. "That's for stealing my yogurt, douche"
This movie is almost everything I don't like about comedies. It actually helped me to realize why I don't like comedies as much. Comedies don't have the situational or social realism that makes movies appealing to me. Everything in this movie just seemed too fake and silly. The parts that were meant to be funny, weren't, and Zach Braff and Jason Bateman play the same characters they always play. At the beginning of the movie, Paul Rudd makes an appearance as the owner of the restaurant Braff gets fired from, his cameo was the highlight of the film.
Jason Bateman is the only reason to see this film. When he is on screen there is something funny happening. Zach Braff and the usually excellent Amanda Peet (OK I may just be giving her marks for looks here) seem kinda dead and unlikable on screen here.
With a great cast this is definitely worth watching. It does have very funny moments. But all around it could've been much better, precisely because of the cast. I mean Zach Braff is a genius! Jason Bateman is amazing. Amanda Peet, Amy Adams and Amy Poehler are among the few truly funny working actress out there. Yet for some reason it lacked something. It was funny, definitely enjoyable and smart, but to the end it all felt rushed, like they were trying to finish and wrap everything up and that hurt what it could've been something awesome and magical. Overall it was nice and as usual the actors gave great performances.
