With such low ratings by the critics I expected little from this movie but discovered much. I rarely hear an audience of adults laughing out loud repeatedly during a movie -- Evan Almighty did this! How? With impressive computer graphic generated animal sight gags, with near perfect timing, especially by Wanda Sykes who played Rita, and by Morgan Freeman who has now officially replaced George Burns as God. You will laugh, you will cry, you will not be sorry you went to this movie unless . . . you have a bias against religion (as many critics do); you will resent this movie deeply as it dares to suggest there is a spiritual side of life -- so don't go and say negative things as it wasn't meant for you.

To be honest, I appected more form this film. I didn't find it near as funny as the original, Burce Almighty. I love Steve Carell, but he couldn't pull off the comedy aspect. I couldn't give this as such a big rating as I would like to.

Not terrible. With Jim Carrey's track record on sequels you know he wouldn't be in this one. With Steve Carrell as the lead this was a pretty decent movie.

Crazy ! Insane ! and very JFL(Just For Laugh) only . Don't ever expect Evan Almighyt is a great movie . It's just for laugh , same like the first film Bruce Almighty . Eventhough Bruce Almighty is better than Evan , Evan served something different ,and it's totally because of Steve Carrel's performance .

Not quite as humourous as Bruce Almighty, but Steve Carrell is certainly a funny guy. Some great shots graphically speaking. Good clean family fun.

I enjoyed this movie, but still liked Bruce Almighty better. I enjoyed the scene towards the end with the dam collapsing. It had some very funny parts along with some slow ones.

First, several years ago, in Bruce we trust (after God gave him His power for a while), and now (2007), in Evan we trust! The producer was lucky enough casting Steve Carrel in Bruce Almighty, so because he could attract the audience in Bruce, now he became stares as leading role in this movie.
To be honest, there's only two famous actors in this movie, they're Steve Carrel and Morgan Freeman. Steve Carrel, although he's a comedian, his style is different with Jim Carrye, and oh, we all know that. In this movie, he used his normal style, quite funny but not funny enough to make this movie spectacular like what Jim has done in Bruce Almighty.
Morgan Freeman, this old-man, he played once as GOD, for this role, personally, I didn't like someone starred as GOD, but it happened. Well, similar with what he has done in the previous Almighty. Oh, the other cast, no need to blab, they're just fringe cast.
The story, I won't say it was bad because the plot was taken from the Bible (well, some of them). But to be honest, the previous Almighty was better, because the previous Almighty was originally fresh, yes, fresh from oven, but this movie, it's better called a spin-off rather than a sequel. The producer waste a lot of money for making standard visual effect and they were to much, and some of them were needless.
Alright, I'm gonna finish my review here. One think I like from this movie, they didn't mock the bible. That's all. Even though it isn't as funny as Bruce Almighty, but still, this movie is worth to watch, and will fit as a snack. In Evan we trust huh? Are you kidding me? -

I was expecting this to be a lot funnier than it is especially since Steve Carell can be amusing at times...oh how wrong I was I don't think I raised a smile let alone a laugh throughout the 90 minutes. But that's not entirely Carell's fault the script was poor he simply had to make the best of what was there. Morgan Freeman was great as always the rest of the cast are reasonable.
When compared to the other family movies out there it not bad the best thing is the movie does not seem to take itself so seriously, which is always great. The 'life lessons' which are always thrown into these kinds of movies this time doesn't seem to work as well in this one.
One of the better parts of the movie was the special effects, particularly the Ark.
Defiantly not something I would be watching again.!
God: Let me ask you something. If someone prays for patience, you think God gives them patience? Or does he give them the opportunity to be patient? If he prayed for courage, does God give him courage, or does he give him opportunities to be courageous? If someone prayed for the family to be closer, do you think God zaps them with warm fuzzy feelings, or does he give them opportunities to love each other? -
MCT:August 25, 2008i was extremely disappointed with this movie, i thought it would be a blast watching like bruce was. the best parts of the movie were when morgan freeman talked and that girl, wanda sykes was hilarious, but other than that, carell proved why hes doing television and the story was pathetic

Steve Carrell (Gawd I love him!) plays Evan Baxter a newly appointed congressman with eveything he could want, a new house, car and great family. The problem is that his work plays a too big a part in his life and sometimes he neglects his family. Then God, played by Morgan Freeman decides togive him the tools to make an ark and become a modern day Noah! Very random you might think but there is a reason for this and a beautiful moral to the story, you can change the world with one random act of kindness at a time. Excellent movie with a fantastic line up, an easy watch if you're not in the mood to watch anything that's too challenging on the mind. You'll love this if you liked it's predecesor, Bruce Almighty.

I have seen this movie and I am so mad I think if falls so short as to the first movie shure there are a few funny parts but my god if you cant do better then that give up, when you make a part two to anything you have to make it better than the first this is a peice of fjkajfdsak if you get what I mean I would save my money if I where you I wish I would have .

I enjoyed this movie and want to buy my own copy. It potrays how Noah listened to God when asked to build an ARK and how God intervenes if one fail to obey him.
