This is definitely the best of the animated movies Marvel has released. Doc Strange is a really interesting character that made for a great movie.
Hadn't heard much about Doctor Strange but from this movie he looks like a pretty awesome superhero. Be cool to see a real life version soon.
A bit slow in the beggining, then it gets rely good. I rely want to read the series after seeing this movie
This was a very good animated movie. They stuck very close to the Doctor Strange origin in the comics. Worth a watch for marvel fans and people who have never heard of Doctor Strange.
This was the first animated adaptation of Marvel's Doctor Strange and remained faithful to the character. The story of the arrogant surgeon who finds his purpose after a serious accident is one of the more gripping origins of any fictional character. Although not the most popular Marvel hero, Doctor Strange fills the screen with a top notch film.
Hate to say it, but I was expecting a little more. The animation could have been better, the story could have been better, all these things could have been sooo much better. all in all, it was alright, pretty entertaining, but nothing fantastic.
Out of all the Marvel comics DTV anaimted films this is the best one. But in saying that thou doesn't hold much... when the bar is set so fucking low from the other crap they have shit out.
One of the better Marvel original animated movies, which means it won't be as popular. The build up to the end made it all worthwhile. Far more cerebral than anything else they've done to date.
vastly superior to "The Invincible Iron Man" maybe better than the avengers movie. all in all, a good time. i own it.
meh. Story wasnt very strong, but you cant really blame marvel. Noone was at home saying "You know what would make a great and exciting movie? Dr. Strange!"
He's always been a boorish character and always will be. The voice acting and animation was pretty above average though.
Legalzinho, especialmente para algo *feito* para crianças. Me lembra tanto Mago: a Ascenção que chega a ser uma coisa boa.
1st half of the movie was good, with a little bit of acting, and a little realism. Then, it turned into the typical Japanimation film, where it wasn't very realistic (i.e. spells seem to cover up 1/2 the damn city, fight scenes with yelling). Plot seemed to go weak, in the last 1/2.
This movie isn't as great as Ultimate Avengers or Iron Man, but it's good.. The problem is that Doctor Strange isn't a likable character. He's a jerk, and not like Tony Stark, where it's funny... he's just a jerk.
12-26-07 --They did a great job with Doctor Strange. I was afraid they would change too much but just like the Marvel Animated Features before it they really took a little bit from everywhere. Wong wasn't bald? Why change that? Anyway, The Sorcerer Supreme had an origin story to tell and they did a good job telling it.
this was the weakest of the marvel animated films so far, but it was still good enough to watch. the story was slow and the build up uninteresting, but it was cool to see dr strange come about. the time spent as sorcerer supreme was also limited and unsatisfying. this should have been much better but it was still good enough to leave me encouraged about the marvel animated films.
Great story, great animation. It's great that Marvel is making these animated movies. Already in my collection.
Nah, no good for being made 2007.
It's the same animating style they use in the X-Men Evolution series, only this is 15 years later and nothing's changed.
Mystical creatures, portals to other dimensions, and a storyline that strangely makes some sense. This was good.
this was a very good, good movie. they did a very good job and they kept it true to the dr.strange comic.
I'm not a Marvel fan, but this is good stuff. Nicely drawn personalities, good mythology, and interesting locales. Pretty cool all around.
when i first heard of a Dr Strange movie i wasn't expecting an animated one, but gotta admit it it was cool, reminded me of the good ol days, it doesn't have the effects of the most newest animated movies but these classic effects fit this movie the most, and for an animated movie, it has a surprisingly great story it also marks the transformation of another hero, Doctor Strange:Sorcerer Supreme!
Another Marvel character gets the animated treatment. The animation is as with all of the films in this series spot on. The only problem was that some of the scenes seemed a bit drawn out unnecessarily even though this is an origin story.
All of these new Marvel movies have surprisingly lush animation and take the characters seriously. "Doctor Strange" is no different. His character was complex and not immediately likable, presenting a sophisticated portrait of a flawed human.
His origin was handled well and given enough screen time to feel thorough. The rest of the plot was less interesting, however, relying too much on kung-fu and not enough on hocus-pocus. Most of the characters - hero and demon alike - felt a bit bland and interchangeable. I was also slightly disappointed not hearing any classic Strange-isms like "the hoary hosts of Hoggoth" that help give the doctor his flair. But there is plenty here to enjoy, regardless of your prior comic book knowledge.
I was not familiar with the story of Doctor Strange before watching this movie, so I have no reference point. That said, I enjoyed this animated movie very much. A good story, and nice animations made it entertaining. I think it was a wise decision to make a animated movie of this story, and not the now usual hi-tech fx and some famous actor running around pretending to be a superhero.
This board looks lonely. Be the first to talk about "Doctor Strange" !
