MCT:August 4, 2008"Coyote Ugly" is a formula-based, light moralistic movie with mediocre acting. For its purpose as cheap entertainment it fills its role nicely. I wouldn't spend money to rent/buy this film, but if you're looking for a mindless weekend flick this can be it.

surprisingly good and morally thought provoking (how far is it ok to go for your dreams?) john goodman is once again the sorta lame side character that you for some reason like and...idk, just liked it. -

When young Violet finally follows her dream and moves to New York to become a songwriter, she knows little about the big city.
All her efforts to get a demo tape to a producer are useless, additionally her apartment is broken in to, leaving her with nothing. But a coincidence leads her to Coyote Ugly, a night club where only beautiful women call the shots, using their female attraction to drive the guests just crazy. Violet manages to get a position and starts learning the ways of the city. After getting in trouble because of a misunderstanding, Violet's new friend Kevin tries to rid her of her stage fear so that she can perform her songs herself. Violet's father Bill does not like her new job as well as her leaving him, but it's all part of growing up."The party never ends."

"Coyote ugly" is one of my favourites. There are wonderful songs. It tells how important it is to have someone to believe in you and encourage you. I recommend to everyone to see this movie.

Basically this is Hooters if they made a movie, that bar where the patrons are slutty on purpose, because the manager told them to be. Doesn't deliver the goods. A flaccid tease of a flick.

MCT:July 7, 2008Is supposed to be a sey romantic comedy. It failed to be romantic, a comedy and sexy. Also it is a bar. Women go to bars as well, hw many men only bars have you been to? Don't worry I'll wait while you name thiem.... Anyhow since women visit bars as well why are there no men to entice the women? Does not make much sense.
