i love the John's in this movie they just kill me everytime with how awesome they are. Nick Cage's accent was a little grating after about 5 minutes. Its good though....take some of the best B movie actors put them in a crazy situation and blow a lot a lot of shit up. Super awesome.

I thought it was fantastic, brilliant, great action film, and Nicolas cage was amazing, but iot gets points off because it dragged on and on and on and it seemed like they just wanted to see how many explosions they could do. I liked it though.

Nick Cage was not the greatest actor in this movie... The problem is all the big actors in this movie dont have good enough roles to shine, and the way john Malkovich died, i mean what the hell

Con Air was a commerical for flowing radiant hair, wasn't it? Nope, it was a movie about covicts on a plane, which is just like stupid. Talk about a flight risk! Something is just bound to go wrong. Not one of Nick Cage's best roles either.

Surprisingly good action flick thought they should have reconsidered casting Cage here who looked labored throughout.

I'm not a huge Nicholas Cage fan, but his performance was good. I especially like John Cusack and John Malkovich's characters though. I love their dry humor.

It's just too much, even for an action movie. Wants to be Die Hard but not even close. Are we supposed to laugh that a serial murderer gets away at the end?

Some gritty action and well acted by all involved.
The story perhaps too farfetched for me but plenty of guns, plenty of explosions and one fast ca.
    It's a guy thing.

I absolutely LOVE John Cusack! He was a heartthrob 809's star. And he made a clean turn over to a very respected man who makes such talented performances.

Film is a bit daft. . . no it's just totally silly but it kept me entertained well enough which is the main point really isn't it? Thought the acting seemed at bit stiff sometimes but maybe that was just me I dunno. Oh and before I forget - that accent!! Eeeurgh! Why even bother? It was awful!!!

Good actors, predictable action. Nice lines, clichees. So, what should I say? It deserves a little more, it does. But maybe I'm just not a big fan of action movies.

William 'Billy Bedlam' Bedford: Have you lost your mind?
Cyrus Grissom: According to my last psych evaluation, yes.

I've seen this movie. It was good, excetp for Nicolas Cage's bogus accent. We all know he doesn't sound like that, and people from the south don't talk like that either.

Typical over-bearing Jerry Bruckheimer production. Has a legion of fans but if it wan't for the great cast it would crash to earth faily quickly.

    And I quote...
Midway in Con Air, Cage's character observes: "Somehow they managed to get every creep and freak in the universe on this one plane." That's the same thought I was having. The plane--a hijacked flight of dangerous convicts--has so many criminal superstars on it, it's like a weirdo version of those comic books where the superheroes hold a summit... ;/

Let's take an inventory. There's the ringleader, Cyrus the Virus (John Malkovich), who cheerfully reports that his last evaluation found him insane; Diamond Dog (Ving Rhames), a black militant who's pretending to be Cyrus' lieutenant until he sees an opening to make his own move, and Johnny 23 (Danny Trejo), so-called because of his 23 convictions for rape...
Plus there are about 10 more creeps--including Garland Greene (Steve Buscemi), a serial killer with 37 victims, who arrives on board encased in custom-made restraints patterned after Hannibal Lecter's traveling suit in "The Silence of the Lambs." (When Cyrus the Virus sees Greene strapped in a cocoon of leather and steel, he protests, "This is no way to treat a national treasure!" He adds, "Love your work.") All of these monsters are on board the same flight, a lumbering C-123K troop transport that is taking them to a maximum security prison. Also on board is a good guy: Cameron Poe (Nicolas Cage), an Army Ranger unfairly locked up for eight years for protecting his family from drunken goons. This is his flight home for parole. Sitting next to him is a friend from prison (Mykelti Williamson), a diabetic who must have an insulin shot or die. Among the guards who survive the initial takeover of the plane is Bishop (Rachel Ticotin), who immediately inspires the rapist to change his name to Johnny 24...
That's just the partial roll call of creeps and freaks in the air. On the ground, we meet a good-guy U.S. marshal (John Cusack), and a mad dog DEA agent (Colm Meany) whose solution to the problem is to blow the commandeered plane out of the air. This is a big cast, but easy to keep straight, because everyone is typecast and never does anything out of character.
In a film filled with strange people and bizarre events, here is the strangest and most bizarre: The closing credits, played over ``Sweet Home Alabama,'' include a montage of all the major characters--smiling. Yes, smiling. Cyrus the Virus and Johnny 23 and all the rest, looking like nice guys in a fast food ad. Apparently the strategy is to leave the audience on an upbeat note. That would require a very short attention span on the part of the audience, but this may be just the movie to assemble that audience...

Danny Trejo once again flexes his acting muscle by portraying a creepy mexican rapist. This is the only Nicolas Cage movie that doesn't blow and I attribute that to the strong supporting cast of Buscemi and Malkovich.

another great popcorn flick with a superb cast.everyone does their job here really well..including cage and his hair.the action is so over the top its brilliant.the villians are an awesome line up of maniacs and killers with great
    nicknames......pinball,virus,swamp thing,diamond dog etc...excellent haha
the cast really is the best line up of action men and character actors since predator or any 80's showdown.u have trejo, buscemi, rhames, malkovich,mc gainley and from 80's actioners...ticotin.all u need is carl weathers and sonny landham and this would be the bollocks lol
the first half is the best..the criminal role call,on the plane, cusack and his plane tatrums.....then we get a brilliant desert setup and gun battle, people dropping like flies one at a time....the ending is abit too stupid but it never matters really...well..not too much.
some of it is predictable some isnt (buscemi's ending),but a great surprise that came outta nowhere on release.
    love the logo too.

The second best part of the movie, beside Nicholas Cage, is the transexual shaking it to Lynyrd Skynyrd!

I love every bit of this movie because for one thing, it has a plethora of criminals and each are unique in their own way. Second, it has a romantic twist in it and I choke up at the end sometimes when he gets back to his girls that he's been waiting to see. I loved it too that Steve Buscemi escaped at the end, fabulous.
