Well, I have seen this before. It has nice ideas and it does show that there surely is a "grey" area between mentally ill and sane and maybe we all are somewhere in between. I personally think, depp is not a great actor, but he knows how to pick the good movies to appear in and his emotionless face does fit quite well in this movie :)

I enjoyed this movie. It gives the feeling of hope even if you are slightly different. I've always enjoyed Mary Stuart Masterson's acting and this movie confirmed that.

This is one of my favorite movies to watch, when I'm feeling down, and need a little pick up. Mary Stuart Masterson is brilliant as Joon. It's a great story about how anything is possible for anyone, as long as they believe in it. It's also a heart warming love story.

This is a great quirky, feel good film. It's about a brother who is overwhelmed with the responsibility of taking care of his mentally ill sister. Johnny Depp stars as an eccentric Buster Keaton imitator who begins living with them and changes everything. It's a cute film about sacrifice and well, oddball love.

This movie is truly a treasure. It tells a beautiful story in a very vibrant and descriptive way. It has an understated sophistication that I enjoy.
The characters are all multi-dimensional and interesting, even the supporting characters. I would love to have anyone of them as a friend. And that's all because of the fine acting.
I love the score as well. It really helps to create the mood.
All and all, this movie is simply endearing. -

WHAT CAN I POSSIBLY SAY OR WRITE ABOUT THIS MOVIE TO GIVE IT THE JUSTICE IT DESERVES SERIOUSLY. I COULD WRITE ON AND ON! I MEAN JOHNNY IS, WAS, AND WILL ALWAYS BE SOMETHING TO APPLAUD AND BE THANKFUL FOR. HES JOHNNY EFFING DEPP! AS FOR MARY STUART SHE FREAKED ME OUT BIG TIME IN A GOOD WAY A BIG WAY. THIS MOVIE IS UTTER GENIUS IT WAS SO GOOD THAT IF SOMEONE ELSE HAD PLAYED SAM THEY PROBLY WOULDVE DONE IT JUST ASS WELL AS JOHNNY....MAYBE NOT LOL.

It never gets old and is so charming. This is such a sweet film and Johnny Depp is fantastic as usual.
Mary Stuart Masterson also does an amazing job as Adrian Quinn's mentally ill sister.
Everyone in it is great. Julianne Moore even costars.
Such a fun sweet film and with a great soundtrack. Honestly, it's just such a perfectly sweet movie and just so much fun to watch. It has a simplicty and yet it is complex too.
My only complaint is the one unneccesary scene where someone gives out a phone number starting with 555... Shatters the "reality" every time and could have been cut with no problem.
But otherwise, wonderful! -

Simple, but still this romantic comedy have enough charm and *aww* moments to be priceless and Depp, for starter's role, is incredible, as the rest of the cast. Great movie :-) -

A passoniate story of two people who are diffrent in special ways, Sam (Depp) isn't mentally special but very obsessed with his idol and even acts like him falls in love with Joon, Joon is mentally ill and has random outbursts and is weird in everyone except Sam's eyes. Very insiteful, funny, romantic, and personal. It reaches into the parts of a relasionship only Johnny Depp could portray

when i first saw this movie, it instantly became my favorite. i know this movie isnt all pumped up like other movies.. but its innoccence wins... its sweet funny as h@ll, and come on... johnny with long hair? is just hmmmmmm... he can come clean my house any day!!!!!!!! :D
