Plot: Broadway musical based on the Little Orphan Annie comic strip. A young orphan girls adventures in finding a family that will take her.
It?s been a fair while since watching this film, which was a childhood favorite of mine. A rags to riches tale with a heartwarming end. Great performances from Albert Finney and Tim Curry.
I loved this movie since I was little, because it was one of the first musicals I ever saw.
It's A Hard Knocked Life
Tomorrow
Until I reassess John Huston's ANNIE, it will be what Altman's POPEYE was to me for years--a vaguely remembered live comic strip with songs, including "The Son'll Come Out to Borrow (Your Car)" and "It's a Fart Knock Life."
i LOVE the one that was mad in 1981 or was it1982 or1983 i dont know!! but i LOVE it (i have it on tape because i was not born yet!!)
(my mom was in the play twice!!)
Shit. Did anyone really think this would make a good picture?! It was a cheap, corny, odd ball of a film. Aren't we all sick of the poor orphan act? Don't even get me started on Oliver, which is 10X worse. I can see why the girl who plays Annie, never did anything after this- she was in hiding.
