MCT:September 3, 2008Had a big problem with this film... it was so dark i couldnt make out half of what was happening! Plus the casting.... its like an episode of the OC with aliens in it!

Decent. Very much better than the last AVP movie, but this leans toward gore more than scares. All the effects look great, but character development suffers and I think the movie lacks some Alien-on-human action (that sounds odd...)
Some scenes are too dark to see what you want to and there's some bad dialogue.
But, the story is good, the action is good, and the acting is good enough to watch. If you're an AVP fan, you've probably already checked this out, but it's an ok see for a slasher fan. -

This blows the 1st AVP away and all of the predator & alien franchise away. It is packed with nonstop action including intense terror and gore. It had enough fighting and chase scenes. The acting was below average. It would of been better if Ellen Riply from the alien trilogy instead of these new actors; which i have never heard of. Overall i recommend this movie for action junkies and horror fans. I can't wait for AVP 3 to come out. I hope it will be better than the other two. -

Well I must say at first I was starting to think they had screwed another sequel.The first one was SO good.I really didn't want to be let down with this one.Anyway after a somewhat shaky beginning and seemingly weak storyline,It did actually get better.If nothing else if you are an Aliens or Predator fan,you MUST see this for the fight scene between the Predator and the Predalien,its AWESOME!! =)

No one really got excited for Alien vs Predator Requiem at first, and why would anyone? The first AvP movie was complete garbage, straight from the Paul W.S. Anderson school of movie making, which apparantly requires only five hours of actual instruction to earn a degree, and most of those five hours are spent watching the professor masturbate while he speedily zooms in and out on various parts of his body with an overhead camera. But when the first red band trailer for AvP: Requiem came out, everything changed. This wasn't going to be some sissy PG-13 bastardization of the franchise driven completely by a poorly scripted storyline, it was going to be some great orgasm of blood and guts and sci-fi action violence, and what more could we want from an AvP movie? Requiem still tries, I guess, but its attempts are so half-hearted that they almost beg the audience not to pay attention to them. Whether we're watching the bratt pizza delivery boy try to overcome school bullies or following the cop and the renegade ex-con as they investigate the mystery of why their small town's murder rate went up 10,000% in a day, nothing is followed to seriously. I honestly wonder what's wrong with the idea of just following Predator around for an entire movie, because the Predator plotline is probably the only one in the movie that is interesting. So yea, it's stupid once again, but does Requiem deliver as expected? Yes, yes, yes, yes. Aliens explode, Predator outsmarts everyone, buttugly PredAlien fucks shit up on a level so incredible that you may find yourself becoming aroused, and the humans tread vigilantly along as they meet their destinies of becoming cannon-fodder in a timely fashion. This isn't the most exciting action movie ever made, but I'll be damned if it's not pretty entertaining. The ending may come off as ballsy, but it's not like it matters, and the "cliffhanger" is so ridiculously unclear that it might qualify as lamest lead into a sequel ever, but Requiem is still a pretty good time for most of the way through, and a sequel that has set the AvP franchise down a road to positivity that the first one may have made impossible had it not been for good planning. Now let's see some more acid blood shoot everywhere please.

Not bad but very very poor lighting spoils the atmosphere, also it seems just a little dated. The only glimpse of hope being the apparent connecing plot to the originals

A descent film all in all. Could have been better in some aspects (like the clichéd characters). But overall, random gore scenes and a whole town being slaughtered make this one entertaining film.

AVP 2 continues directly from the ending of the first film, with an alien/predator hybrid causing the ship to crash land back on Earth. A second ship is dispatched containing a kind of space-age alien cross between a CSI and Batman to clear up the resulting mess. The first film was dumb but fun, but I have to say I did not have high hopes for this one. At first it seemed that my fears were going to be justified because the first act of the film resembled a teen slasher flick more than anything else, complete with semi-clad nubile teens, people being picked off one by one in dark corridors and the inevitable pre-scares and false alarms. However, once the aliens hit the surface things got a LOT better. It "borrows" ideas heavily from other sources, notably Dawn Of The Dead and especially Aliens; a couple of scenes are lifted directly from it and the kick-ass mom protecting her young daughter is an obvious copy of Ripley. But it does it WELL. Despite the fact that the film can look a little too dark making it difficult to tell what's going on in places, it does look great and the fight sequences are very well done. The small town stereotypes are a little underwritten, but the action makes up for it and it never shies away from the gory side of things giving it a distinctly horror style spin. The alien hybrid is also done far better than the one in Alien Resurrection. For once it seems that a sequel has learned form the mistakes of its predecessor, and the result is a very pleasant surprise.

They stole the best bits from the previous movies! The directing isn't great, there's no suspense what so ever... but I'll watch anything with the Aliens and Predator in it. The best part of the film is guessing what'll happen next

Totally disappointed with this film, seriously. Thought it'd be great. i've rated it a 3 n half simply because i like alien and predator.
What miffed me the most was the fact that the film was too dark, not as in genre i mean everything seemed to be in shadow. you could hardly see what the 'half breed' looked like properly! but from what i saw of it, it looked so ugly! they can't mix alien and predator together...thats just so wrong! -

MCT:August 2, 2008I'm a huge fan of Aliens, James Cameron's vision of the universe that Ridley Scott created, is one of my all-time-favorite films. It set numerous sci-fi and action precedents, that filmmakers continue to rip-off today. John Mctiernan's Predator, is another of my favorite films; it's pretty much a perfect action flick from beginning to end. Arnold in his prime vs. the Predator is one of the all-time great fight scenes. So by all rights the Alien vs. Predator films should at least be some good mindless entertainment, but so far they've completely missed the boat. The first one sucked; the Antarctic pyramid setting was lame and too alien, if you're going to set it on earth, make it somewhere realistic, the human characters were completely forgettable, and the alien vs. predator scenes weren't done well and too far in-between. So when I saw the trailer for Aliens vs. Predator - Requim, which was set in an American town and there were new filmmakers involved, I got my hopes up a bit.
But within a few minutes it was fairly evident that this sequel wasn't going to be much better. They take way too long setting up the characters that are mostly going to end up fodder for the two species of aliens to maim and kill; with none of them are memorable. Where's our Ripley, Dutch, Hicks or "I ain't got time to bleed" Blain? I couldn't care less about a single one of these folks, they couldn't kill them off fast enough. I'll admit that the fight scenes in this film are done much better than the first Alien vs. Predator, but they're the only scenes in the film worth watching. I actually found myself getting bored about half way through the film, a real no-no for something so stupid.
Directors Greg & Collin Strause try way, way too hard to make us think about the classic film Aliens, there are a ridiculous amount of allusions to that film; from the music and sound effects ripped straight from that film, to the character archetypes and they even include military vehicles and weaponry extremely similar, even though this film takes place now and Aliens is hundreds of years into the future. The second half of the film is pretty much nothing but a bad Aliens rip-off, with a few Predators thrown in to kill an alien here or there. Another worthless addition to both series.

the story is: the aliens and the predators battle it out in a jungle near an village. the unexpecting residents must jion together to try and save them from being killed. their should of been more action in this film. a huge dissapointment. this could of been film of the year 2007.

The movie was great and the ending was even better with the Army guy showing the Chinnese lady the Predator Weapon. I think it could have been better if they didn't kill off Jesse and then her and Ricky would have been in love. Tell me what you think?

Ehhh, Ok movie. The first one was decent and fun movie, this one felt a little too low budget, mediocre story and actors. Almost felt like Jason or Freddy should pop out and kill some kids who are fornicating.

Not as good as the first lacking in Storyline from the first (if anybody seen the first you will nderstand) lots of blood and aliens and the Predalien this time...triple threat macth!

When I rented the video I was very excited, but however I was disappointed that the movie was to to dark to watch. I couldn't see most of the scenes. I know it supposed to be a night-time action movie, but please brighten it up a bit. I mean the other Alien movies were ok. As for the story line it's below what I expected. There is also a fine line between good horror and ....... Well what can I say but they should have deleted the scenes of the pregnant women and the babies in the hospital ward. Did they really need to put that in and the young kid in the beginning of the movie. But At leastI can say, It wasn't scary since you couldn't see it. My only regret is wasting $3 of renting the video. I should have spent that money on the original at least I can see it.

After watching the 1,2, and 3 movie I was expecting this one to be good like the others, however I could'nt see much due to dark scenes and could not tell who's fighting who in there. I was disappoiting about this one. Would not def recommend this to others to watch.

I was very disappointed with this movie, the fighting scene were alright, but the storyline in general was weak! I am a very big Predator fan so i was happy when this one bad ass Predator came and kicked everyones ass, that was hard. But the whole teenage dispute didn't fit into the movie whats so ever. I really hope that they come out with a part 3 to make up for part 2.

Has some all right moments, but for the most part, it's just a really bad movie. I like my Predator flicks, and I like my Aliens, but this... no. And who cares about the teenage male lead having a crush on some girl, it's AVP R, not AVP OC!
