Quite simply one of the best horror movies in years. An experimental biological weapon is unleashed in Britain. It turns people into mindless, remorseless beastes, all in matter of seconds.Nothing scares me anymore, and this movie creeped me out! Great great horror movie. This movie showed, when all the cards are on the table, the old Native Indian saying comes into play. "you can't eat your money" , which translated means in the brutal world, the wilderness, money is worthless, when chaos is in power. You can't eat it, you can't defend yourself with it, it won't keep you warm or shelter you. This movie opened my eyes to that. It made me think of, what would I do, and sparked some great conversations between my friends and I.

An excellent example on how epic low-budget horror should be made. Frightening, depressing yet beautiful at times.

This film gives the zombie genre a complete makeover as they are now given the ability to run,(though it was stolen from the Gamecube remake of the original Resident Evil). So the basic plot of the film is that these lab monkeys are infected with a new disease dubbed RAGe. And when two animal rights people break into the compound to free them one of them becomes infected and instantly becomes a canibalistic raging beast who attacks and infects everyone else. Eventually the whole country is infected. the film then goes forward in time and introduces a man who wakes up in a hospital and discovers that it's deserted baffled about were everyone is he walks out of the hospital and wanders into a deserted post apocalyptic city. Unlike the first film which was about people who already knew the harsh environment this film is about a man who has no clue what he has gone into. The first time he encounters the infected he's like, "Hay sir are you ok"? to a freakin bloody limping moaning priest. Can't the guy put two and two together? Eye mean he just saw the empty streets and everyting shouldn't that be enough to tell him something is wrong? He finally gets the picture when a whole horde of raged mainiacs comes charging at him. He is saved by a group of survivors in just the nick of time and he befriends them and joins them throughout the story. Many will die so don't get to attached to the characters. This is one of the best zombie like flicks though it is overshadowed by the excellent sequel at least in my opinion some people prefer this installment over 28 Weeks Later, go figure.

Not your typical zombie movie. Boyle showed the importance of cinematography to a genre that generally didn't care at all for it. Using the empty landscape of London plus the great acting from Cillian Murphy, 28 Days Later shows the reality of what could happen if zombies were real.

i am sure to say that this sets the bar for zombie movies with great plot and spectacular cast... this movie set a trend, aside from the resident evil franchise (their zombies weren't running like mad anyways), and so far, is the best zombie movie i have watched so far... this and shaun of the dead, but i think thats a completely different story, no?

A horror that needs thinking about before it is atuli scary, based around an infection that smashes into britain the film gives edge and keeps you on the edge of you're seat despite really slow at the start. The film gives realisation of what a small mutation of an illness or contamination or virus eg rabies can do to britain and how the military will handle the infection. This gives it its chill factor and many will not be able to apretiate its gory visual effects and its many violent scenes.Upon thinking about the plot and how it COULD happen itself that is how the film becomes scary and it atuli gets you thinking about that halfway through the movie.Danny boyle has composed this film with passion and understanding so that it dawns on you that nothing is possible and in this day an age at the rate the humankind is accelarating at something as little as a small infection that mutates can bring huge problems for the Britain and also shows how unprepared the Military really are if such events are to occur .. a well deserved 5 stars

This movie was pretty good for the actors in it. The only thing that was scary for me was thinking about an actual event like this happening, otherwise the supposed zombies weren't scary at all just a bunch of people acting crazy. I have seen much scarier stuff.

These are excellent Zombie flicks A+. However, the zombies are fast. Not everyone likes his zombies fast. Zombies are very personal things.

I loved this almost as much as the 2nd 1. Although I think there was a teeny wee thing missing (although not quite sure what) it still packed a punch with the frights and gore.

A superior and intelligent zombie/horror flick. Cillian was mesmerizing, Naomie Harris kicked royal ass, and I loved Brendan Gleeson's character! I loved the moments of quiet and peace. The moments of horror were carefully placed, not splayed all over the place in a haphazard fashion. Characters you care about, an intriguing and terrifying situation, great cinematography, and equal (or more!) moments of peace and contemplation before the storm. Very well done.

28 Days Later is a film where, as an observer, you will see things that -- if they happened to you in real life -- you would soil your pants. Instantly. This effect is partially due to the terrific camerawork, which not only looks unique, but also gives the film an air of realism due to its imperfections. This is also supported by the frantic cinematography which, although confusing, makes the whole experience look really fast-paced. Of course, all this visual stuff is supported by the downright terrific acting on behalf of practically everyone in the cast. Another great thing about this movie is that it leaves a lot to the imagination, as the audience never sees what really happened during the evacuation before the events of the film. Perhaps the strangest thing about 28 Days Later is that it is one of the few horror films which actually looks beautiful. Although seeing London deserted -- for the most part -- is creepy, a lot of the cinematography is scenic and poetic in its own way. Overall, fans of typical slasher-horror should probably stay away, but if you're willing to appreciate a genuinely good horror movie, then watch this film.

I know that a lot of movie mainly tell about zombies. From George Romero's dead series to Resident Evil trilogy (watch it as resort). If George Romero's series showed that zombies could think better, this movie told us that in zombie movies, zombie wasn't the only threat, the worst threat itself came from mankind.

I consider this movie as one of the best zombie movie I ever watched while the best was Shaun of the Dead. 28 Days Later also considered as one of the best British Movie (probably in Sci-Fi or Horror category).

Danny Boyle as the director here, and he directed this movie well, even tough this movie didn't scare me enough (maybe it's because I watched it in DVD). But why i gave this movie 4 stars? It's because it's unique, and I never saw any zombie movie like this before and the decisions of placing Cillian Murphy as the main cast was a good decision in my opinion.

The other cast wasn't famous at all, the only cast that I ever heard the name before was Naomi Harris only. But they're fine and they're quite natural in the way they act. Beside of the cast, this movie also provide nice score and music. Don't forget their movie setting, they could make London so quiet and made London like a ghost town, a modern ghost town.

I guess that's enough for this movie. Danny Boyle simply turn my image of this movie from an ordinary zombie movie into a quality zombie movie without showing a lot of zombies. And he made this zombie movie closer to reality, and I didn't have to watch some bullshit like what I saw in Resident Evil Trilogy or other crap (zombie movies). Two thumbs up for this movie.

very good movie. Quite different from other films of the same genre. In american zombie films, theres only fighting and killing zombies from start to end without much of a story line. but in this , there is a very strong story line , very realistic, obvious, no dumb stunts , effects or corny dialogues.
the empty london scene in the beginning of the movie was my favourite part.it was so beautiful, (quite like fantasy). Any 1 notices the music going on in that scent?? amazing!!
my other favourite part was when the survivors were driving to manchester . the photography, acting, ect was so beautifully european (american movies can't do that). U actually get so attached with the survivors.
The scenes after the zombie killings by the army were below my expectations(i feel the director could have used more imagination)
The last scene was again beautiful!!!

A great insight to what could happen in this day and age..... Biological Warfare. made me think about what could happen if russia or china ect. made a biological bomb and dropped it in the heart of london. amazing plot, even though the story turns halfway through the movie amazing. the rough camera shots and the screen shots made me believe a story like this could happen. 5/5!

This is what annoys me. Zombies are the dead, who have risen to an airborne virus. The "Infected" in 28 days Later are Rage Victims, those who have gotton infected caused by a bite on the arm. Get your facts right

This what Resident Evil should have been! Not that sack of crap directed by a sack of crap (Paul W S Anderscum).
It had a lot of elements from the Resident Evil games unlike the actual Resident Evil movies which the only thing they shared with the games was character names and a couple of creatures.

Who cares if it was named a 'zombie movie' it was brilliant! It was so weird, and it did make me feel so uncomfortable, just imagining if i was there and what id do, just strange. I liked where they found the army base, and it was an excellent twist to them making them feel safe then telling them the girls would be used to reproduce. The only bit i hated was where cillian murphy stuck his thumbs in that guys eye sockets...that really did make me heave. The start was a bit confusing for me, but other than that an all round brill movie. Watch it!
