Perfume: The Story of a Murderer (2006, R)
The obsession of beauty within scent, I can't say anything else but brilliant... Very unique. The movie makes use of visuals to convey a sense of smell. You can almost smell what is seen on screen.Although Grenouille has an exceptionally keen sense of smell, he is only able to search for beauty but not to truly appreciate it, since he has no inner beauty at all. He longs to really love somebody and be loved but it turns out that only his perfumes are appreciated and treasured but never himself. At last he is devoured by the common people and returns to be part of the stench. |

Yes,I just got around to seeing this as well.I really liked this movie,There were some pretty funny parts and some pretty twisted things too.It remimded me alot of Requiem for a dream ,except with this I was praying for subtitles at times cause they just talked so dam fast and the accents were so thick made it a bit of a challenge.Ewan McGregor was great in this role,and I must agree that had to be the NASTIEST toliet in all of Scotland GOOD GOD!!If you haven't seen it,check it out!! =) |

I watched this on the recommendation from a friend.First of all take my advice do NOT watch this when you are tired,its a mindfuck enough on it's own,let alone you being drowsy and trying to keep who is really who straight.Anyway very different type of movie I like it and pretty much agree with my frends' review,you wind up almost feeling like its comical at certain points all the murders that are going on.and the funky Signal that is triggering folks to kill their best friend.Anyway if you like,Horror,gore,Violence and lots of blood with a twist of WTF?Check this one out. =) |

Some of this movies are my favourites.
Althought I didn't find Eyes Wide Shut so weird, but it's a great movie with some twisted things. And the business card thing is so true! :D

If you want more weird films, watch A Clockwork Orange. It's by the same guy who directed Eyes Wide Shut, but it's ten times more weird.

You should check out Shadowboxer with Cuba Gooding Jr... that was a weird movie
