Walk the Line (2005,  PG-13)
Walk the Line 5.0 Stars
Joaquin Phoenix growls his way brilliantly through Johhny Cash's hit songs in this outstanding biopic of the singers life. Reese Witherspoon is also great as his wife June Carter. Catchy songs and a compelling story.

Pan's Labyrinth (El Laberinto del Fauno) (2006,  R)
Pan's Labyrinth (El Laberinto del Fauno) 5.0 Stars
This movie is an absolute must see. It's visually stunning to look at with terrific sets. The direction is superb with a dark and gritty look that contrasts well with the fantasy world. Also it has a raw human emotion that is compelling to watch and can be extremely graphic at times. All in all this is a movie that has to be seen to be believed.

Poseidon (2006,  PG-13)
Poseidon 5.0 Stars
A breathtaking rollercoaster ride. Better effects than the 70'S original (that I also love) and one heartstopping set piece after another. Remember to breathe while watching this because you may forget.

Flushed Away (2006,  PG)
Flushed Away 5.0 Stars
Another brilliant movie from the Aardman team. Although Wallace & Gromit creator Nick Park wasn't involved in this movie it is still a funny and brilliantly animated movie that will certainly keep you entertained. The vocal cast are also brilliant. Plus I loved the singing slugs - great.

Little Miss Sunshine (2006,  R)
Little Miss Sunshine 4.0 Stars
Dramatic and very funny at the same time, I really enjoyed this original and entertaining movie. The cast were brilliant and worked well together and made a very believeable family. It's Abigal Breslin who is the star of this show and she is backed up brilliantly by Toni Collette and Steve Carrell in particular. Although it looses steam a little towards the end, this movie will defiantly add some sunshine into your life.

I have no interest in fashion whatsoever but I found this movie completely entertaining. It has a sharp and witty script and brilliant performances from all - especially the always great Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt

Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story (2005,  R)
Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story 4.0 Stars
Featuring a great cast consisting of a who's who's of British talent, this film can be a bit disjointed at times and does take a while to get going but stick with it as there's lots here to enjoy. There is hardly a plot to speak of and most of the film is a mockumentary but with this much talent you have to take a look.

The Queen (2006,  PG-13)
The Queen 4.0 Stars
Although it sometimes feels a little like a sketch show, this movie boasts brilliant performances from Helen Mirren and Michael Sheen in particular. An insightful and interesting movie.

The Lake House (2006,  PG)
The Lake House 4.0 Stars
A different take on the traditional love story with Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves falling in love even though they live two years apart. A clever idea acted brilliantly by Bullock in particular.
