into the wild

Based on a true story. After graduating from Emory University in 1992, top student and athlete Christopher McCandless abandoned his possessions, gave his entire $24,000 savings account to charity and hitchhiked to Alaska to live in the wilderness. Along the way, Christopher encounters a series of characters who shape his life

Two years he walks the earth. No phone, no pool, no pets, no cigarettes. Ultimate freedom. An extremist. An aesthetic voyager whose home is the road. So now, after two rambling years comes the final and greatest adventure. The climactic battle to kill the false being within and victoriously conclude the spiritual revolution. No longer to be poisoned by civilization, he flees, and walks alone upon the land to become lost in the wild. -Alexander Supertramp, May 1992.

My review

PERFECT.

Definitely one of my favourite movie of all times . I admire him so much for his courage that he had to do this , to accomplish his dream . A lot of people these days choose to stick to the society , to have the perfect career , perfect family , perfect life even though life isnt about that . Nowadays the money has invaded our mind and we started to forget the beauty of the life . Anyways , its a touching movie based on a true story of a man who made his dream become reality . Its a must see , maybe it will change your thinking.

Donald Morton: Excuse me. Do you know when the next bus, uh 217, runs?
Man at bus stop: Sorry.
Donald Morton: I'm chasing someone.
Man at bus stop: By bus?
Donald Morton: Well, it's important.
Man at bus stop: Important enough to take the bus?
Donald Morton: Yeah. My girlfriend left me because I wanted to get married and she wanted to stay just friends.
Man at bus stop: Ah. The slower this chase, the better.
Donald Morton: Yeah.

My Review

In the 1970s, a group of apathetic teen surfers from a rough neighbourhood known as "Dogtown" in Venice, California, created a cultural revolution by transforming skateboarding from a recreational activity into an extreme sport.

When a shipment of urethane wheels arrives at Venice's Zephyr Surf/Skate Shop (traded by Mitch Hedberg's character to the owner of the shop for marijuana) the owner, Skip Engblom, played by Heath Ledger, puts together a team of local layabout skaters to compete.

Known as the Zephyr Skateboard Team, the boys transferred their surf skills to drain pipes and empty swimming pools with stunning results. Their acrobatic maneuvers inspired generations of teens to join the skateboarding frenzy and catapulted them to fame and fortune.

The movie is based on the real rise of skateboarding started by Stacy Peralta, Tony Alva and Jay Adams. It follows their friendship, the rise and fall of the Zephyr skateboarding team and the tragic loss of one of their friends, Sid, to brain cancer. It follows their rise to fame and the struggle to stay on top as they begin to turn on each other.

The movie has a soundtrack (Lords of Dogtown: Music From the Motion Picture) featuring songs by Black sabbath, David Bowie, T-Rex, Jimi Hendrix, and Iggy Pop, among others, as well as The Clash's "Death or Glory" being covered by Social Distortion.

My Review

Well , its definitely one of my fav movies ever . I loved it . It is based on the true story of the legendary Z-boys . All the actros gave an amazing performance especially Emile Hirsch . He's always doing a great job . I think it is the best skateboarding movie EVER. You should REALLY see this and wait till the end of the credits so you can see the real guys this story is based on and also pay attention at the cameo performances cos some of the guys are the z-boys. At least watch the movie for the brilliant performance that Heathcliff Ledger gave .

'It's a Boy Girl Thing' uses the high school comedy structure as a basis to explore teenage insecurities, hopes and fears. Nell (the smart, cute girl) and Woody (the big dumb jock) are two teenage rivals who find themselves in each others bodies after arguing in front of an Aztec statue in a museum, which then transfers their souls as they sleep, causing them to awake in each other bodies. After trying to work things out but coming to no conclusion, both Nell and Woody, inside each others bodies, begin ruining each others lives. But after all this bickering, both of them soon discover that if they work together and help each other, a happy ending might turn out after all.

They've turned into the things they hated most... each other.
