Heathers (1988,  R)
Heathers 4.5 Stars
If John Hughes were evil he would have made this film. It's a wickedly funny black comedy about high school and how much it really sucks. It's teen angst with a body count.

Sunshine (2007,  R)
Sunshine 4.5 Stars
Perfect in almost every way. A diverse, believable cast, a realistic fear, a plausible solution, a superb soundtrack and the reason CG was invented.
Saying anything else would ruin it.

The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover (1989,  R)
The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover 5.0 Stars
Visually stunning and deeply disturbing. It's a powerful, sometimes (blackly) funny, drama about love, hate and restaurants. For fans of David Lynch and Jean-Pierre Jeunet. And one of the best scores of all time by Michael Nyman. Do NOT bother seeing it unless its the widescreen unrated cut. Anything else is crap!

RoboCop (1987,  R)
RoboCop 5.0 Stars
A pure testosterone charged, live action comic book film with lots of violence, gore and shit getting blown up real good. Ignore the immensely inferior sequels and TV series.

Technically amazing, wonderful follow up to Night Watch. Even though it was hard to follow at times I absolutely loved it .

WALL-E (2008,  G)
WALL-E 5.0 Stars
Like Finding Nemo before it Wall*E's a charming comedic adventure that works on all levels and can be enjoyed by any age.
It's also a huge step up after the disappointingly dull Ratatouille.

Frankenstein (1910,  Unrated)
Frankenstein 5.0 Stars
The very first film version of Frankenstein made by Thomas Edison's film company in 1910.
Some will be bored as it doesn't contain nudity, violence or audio and it's in that yucky B & W; others will appreciate this amazing achievement from the infancy of film.

And will someone please find a suitable poster or image since what's given is not accurate?

Invasion! (1999,  Unrated)
Invasion! 4.0 Stars
A.K.A.-Top Of The Food Chain.
Deliriously odbball film benefits from witty dialogue, bizzare characters, a solid cast to play them (the standout being Campbell Scott) and it's tongue-in-cheek winks to sci-fi films of yesteryear.
All in all it's a refreshingly funny and strange scifi/horror/comedy that had me laughing all the way through. Thanks to the good Dr. for recommending this to me.
Oh and there's also this easy on the eyes piece of fine feminine form:

The Bucket List (2007,  PG-13)
The Bucket List 4.5 Stars
For a film about dying it's actually quite inspiring and uplifting.
Reiner handles the film expertly and pulls a solid performance out of Nicholson--the best he's had in years.
Freeman doesn't disappoint either but that's no big surprise since he's one of the best actors left on this planet.
Highly enjoyable comedy/drama (accent on the comedy).

Catch Me If You Can (2002,  PG-13)
Catch Me If You Can 4.5 Stars
After 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Spielberg became hit or miss with me (accent on the miss) so I go into each one now expecting to be either bored (The Terminal) or depressed (A.I.).
This one however is a surprisingly entertaining hit with terrific fully-formed characters and equally terrific performances from Hanks, Dicaprio and Walken. It also features a plot that rarely drags, a "Jazzy" score from John Williams and one of the best main title sequences ever made.
I will be buying this one.

Dark City (1997,  R)
Dark City 4.0 Stars
This review is for the director's cut:
An enigmatic noir/science fiction/fantasy that has impressive visuals (especially set design), a plot that was way ahead of it's time and a phenomenal score from Trevor Jones.
It's now obvious where Matrix writers' the Wachowski brothers got there inspiration from as there are many parallels between the two.
Also Richard (Riff Raff - A Handyman) O'Brien gives a stand out performace as the creepy, soft spoken Mr. Hand.
