This film is a total masterpiece. It is without a doubt one of the greatest films ever made. This is probably the number one film that can change peoples lives forever. This film is probably Stephen Kings most famous novel but I prefered the Green Mile to this one because the Green Mile was more depressing and there was more drama even though there was an awful lot drama in this film too. My favourite scene of the film is where Andy escapes the prison and stands in the rain with his arms in the air. That is probably one of the best movie moments ever and it is a classic image of the film. Well, that scene is pretty much the poster and cover of the film. The acting in this film was absolutely superb from Morgan Freeman. He definately deserved his Oscar nomination but I dont think he deserved to win it. Tim Robbins was good but I think he could have done a bit better as Andy Dufresne. I think that actors like Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise or Kevin Costner would have been good for the character. This film shows how scary prison life can really be. Even for the present prisons right now like being stuck in the cells, doing chores for the prison and even sometimes get raped by either another prisoner or a guard. I think film and also Fight Club are the highest ranked films that havent won any Oscars at all which isnt like most classic films. Well Fight Club was only nominated for Best Sound Effects but this film was up for Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Music - Original Score, Best Film Editing and Best Sound. No wonder this film is number 2 on IMDBs top 250 films of all time. This film will remain a masterpiece for many, many generations to come.

I understand. You found paradise in America. You had a good trade, made a good living, the police protected you and there were courts of law and you didn't need a friend like me. But, now you come to me and you say "Don Corleone, give me justice." But you don't ask with respect. You don't offer friendship. You don't even think to call me Godfather. Instead, you come into my home on the day my daughter's to be married and you ask me to do murder for money.
Directed by:Francis Ford Coppola Starring:Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan, Robert Duvall, Richard S. Castellano
Genre:Drama/Thriller
Running time: 175 minutes

My review:
This film has everything!! I watched this film twice but I loved it but didnt understand it. But when I watched it the third time I had a complete open mind and understood every single thing that was going on in this film. It is quite bizarre I know but I just loved the character within the film particularly Marlon Brando as Vito Corleone. I am a huge fan of Marlon Brandos films. I would probably say that this and On The Waterfront are performances that should never be forgotten by fans and critics worldwide. Marlon Brando will always be one of the greatest actors of all time. I just love the Godfather trilogy now not just because of the acting and direction but mostly because they are just called classic masterpieces everywhere. When Marlon won his Oscar for Vito Corleone, I can sort of understand why he refused it because he claimed that Hollywood were discriminating against native Americans. But why refuse an Oscar for a performance for the ages and one of the most famous film characters of all time? Marlon was the perfect choice for Vito Corleone because he plays that like hard man boss like he has done in his previous roles but he acts all emotional and a caring man that wants what is best for his family. When he makes Michael the new Don before he dies, he doesn?t realises what Michael could be capable of. But after Vitos death, Michael turns into this cold hearted monster that doesnt think about the benefit for his family but mostly for himself. At that moment, the audience soon realises that Vito has made a mistake. Vitos oldest son Sonny would have been the new Don but Sonny was murdered and Vito claimed he wasnt strong enough to handle it. At that moment, it created a huge twist not just for the first film of the trilogy but the rest of the trilogy aswell. This tragedy affects every single person in the Corleone family. Vito is definitely one of the all-time great characters because two of the greatest actors of all time have portrayed the character and won Oscars for both Part I and Part II. Marlon Brando for elder Vito in Godfather Part I and Robert De Niro for younger Vito in Godfather Part II. I loved Al Pacinos performance as Michael Corleone in this film aswell. He deserved his Oscar Best Supporting Actor nomination. James Caan and Robert Duvall were nominees aswell but none of the three actors that were nominated for the same film actually won which was a huge advantage and yet quite disappointing. I really liked Oscar winner Diane Keaton as Kaye Adams in this film but she didnt appear much and neither did Vitos daughter and Michaels sister Connie Corleone. I think this is the one film that the entire casts performances were just top class and really professional. I think that this film wouldnt have been a success if Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan or Robert Duvall werent in it or Francis Ford Coppola wasnt directing it either. Not only is the performances good but the music score is absolutely superb and so are the sound effects too. This film also has very suave style of a drama/gangster/thriller film. I wish that this film was still number 1 on IMDBs top 250 because it deserves to be. This is widely claimed to be the greatest film of all time but it isnt that far off in my opinion. I love the picture/poster of Vito Corleone with his hand on his lap sitting in the chair with his suit on. I find that such a classic image. I love the image that appears just before my review of this film now. I think this film is my favourite film from the 1970s and is my favourite from the trilogy. This is an ultimate tie between The Godfather and A Streetcar Named Desire for my favourite Marlon Brando. I think the thing I just love about The Godfather is that if you dont like it or understand it is that you cant deny that it is a classic masterpiece. It is one of those films that you dont have to understand to like. I think that most viewers feel that way but just love the characters just like I do. This is a classic for the ages and will always be remembered for generations to come.

Ready are you? What know you of ready? For eight hundred years have I trained Jedi. My own counsel will I keep on who is to be trained. A Jedi must have the deepest commitment, the most serious mind. This one a long time have I watched. All his life has he looked away... to the future, to the horizon. Never his mind on where he was. Hmm? What he was doing. Hmph. Adventure. Heh. Excitement. Heh. A Jedi craves not these things. You are reckless.

Yes, it's very pretty. I heard a story once - as a matter of fact, I've heard a lot of stories in my time. They went along with the sound of a tinny piano playing in the parlor downstairs. "Mister, I met a man once when I was a kid," it always began.

Genre: Drama/Romance
Running time: 98 minutes

My review:
I rented this film for the first time and I only watched 45 minutes of it. But when I watched it again, I thought WOW! WHAT A CLASSIC MASTERPIECE THIS IS. This is a romantic masterpiece that everyone would enjoy. No wonder it is IMDBs number 10 film of all time. It is one of my favourite black and white films. This film shows that the classics can never die. This is a film that all of the classic songs and phrases can be remembered forever like SEE YA GAIN KID and WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE PARIS. After this film, I think they made it into a song. Humphrey Bogart was brilliant as Rick Blaine in this masterpiece. And so was Ingrid Bergman as Ilsa. When Rick sees Ilsa again, and when she wants him to help her and her husband, it is like a total clash of personality between Ricks tough character and Ilsas soft character. The flashbacks were really clever with Rick and Ilsa in Paris. This is nearly one of earliest masterpieces of all time along with Gone With The Wind, Citizen Kane, It's A Wonderful Life and The Wizard Of Oz. What an awesome classic masterpiece this film is. This film will become a classic phenomenon for generations!! After I have watched this and Gone With The Wind, I am going to start watching the old classic films. R.I.P: Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE PARIS!! Definitely my favourite romantic film of all time.

There's a passage I got memorized. Ezekiel 25:17. The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you. I been sayin' that shit for years. And if you ever heard it, it meant your ass. I never really questioned what it meant. I thought it was just a cold-blooded thing to say to a motherfucker before you popped a cap in his ass. But I saw some shit this mornin' made me think twice. Now I'm thinkin': it could mean you're the evil man. And I'm the righteous man. And Mr. 9mm here, he's the shepherd protecting my righteous ass in the valley of darkness. Or it could be you're the righteous man and I'm the shepherd and it's the world that's evil and selfish. I'd like that. But that shit ain't the truth. The truth is you're the weak. And I'm the tyranny of evil men. But I'm tryin', Ringo. I'm tryin' real hard to be a shepherd.
Directed by: Quentin Tarantino Starring: John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Uma Thurman, Tim Roth, Bruce Willis
Genre:Crime/Drama
Running time: 154 minutes

My review:
One of the most famous films ever made. This is another contender for best performances by the entire cast along with The Godfather. John Travolta was awesome as Vincent Vega and so was Samuel L. Jackson as Jules Winnfield. Bruce Willis and Uma Thurman were very good in this masterpiece. This is Quentin Tarantinos best film. I cant believe the Best Supporting Actor Oscar in 1995 didnt go to Samuel L. Jackson. Well, he was the favourite to win it. As far as Best Picture is concerned, the favourites were this, Forrest Gump and The Shawshank Redemption. But when the ceremony went underway, it was going to be either Forrest Gump or this. But the award went to Forrest Gump in the end (Yes!), even though I still love this film. I knew John Travolta wasnt going to win Best Actor and I thought that Uma Thurman was going to win Best Supporting Actress. This is a really graphic film. Not as graphic as Kill Bill though. I love the phrase from the Bible which is Ezekiel 25:17 that Jules says when he is about to kill somebody particularly the scene in the café near the end of the film. I just love this film because it is like so original, the script is absolutely superb, the general way of the characters, and the quotes that they come up with like the Bible quote and the burger. This film will be a masterpiece for generations to come.

This film is definately a classic work of art from Se7en director David Fincher. The acting in this film was absolutely outstanding from Brad Pitt, Edward Norton and Helena Bonham Carter which I think should have had some Oscar nominations for Best Actor, Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress. This film is very, very tense and has a little bit of fantasy involved in the film which is where it makes this film quite a complicating story. Brad Pitt plays Tyler Durden really well because he is a charming guy with alot of arrogance aswell. It is like he really means business when he opened Fight Club. Edward Norton was good as the Narrator because he looks very complex and a very soft yet quite hard character to think about when he is around Tyler. Especially when he is around Marla Singer who is a young woman who is arrogant and appears like a prostitute. She makes a really good couple with Tyler because she is a bit of a bitch who deserves to be with a big charming guy like Tyler. I thought this was alot better than Se7en. This is another film along with Shawshank Redemption and a few others that are classics that havent won any Academy Awards at all. Well it should have won some at least. I am sure that this film was so underrated at first before it was released but when it was it turned out to be a classic like it deserves to be.

And thus it was. A fourth age of middle-earth began. And the fellowship of the ring... though eternally bound by friendship and love... was ended. Thirteen months to the day since Gandalf sent us on our long journey... we found ourselves looking upon a familiar sight. We were home. How do you pick up the threads of an old life? How do you go on... when in your heart you begin to understand... there is no going back? There are somethings that time cannot mend... some hurts that go too deep... that have taken hold. Bilbo once told me his part in this tale would end... that each of us must come and go in the telling. Bilbo's story was now over. There would be no more journeys for him... save one. My dear Sam. You cannot always be torn in two. You will have to be one and whole for many years. You have so much to enjoy and to be and to do. Your part in the story will go on.

I always wonder why some people and some websites say that this is the best film of all time. Me, on the other hand, doesnt think that it is one of the best. I think the best from the elder days are Casablanca, Gone With The Wind, Wizard Of Oz and It's A Wonderful Life. Orson Welles was brilliant as Charles Foster Kane as he delivers one of the best and most memorable performances in film history and he directed this film really brilliantly aswell. Charles Foster Kane is a billionaire who dies in his sleep in his mansion and his last word is rosebud. No one knows what it means but the papers than Kane worked with and for try and figure out what the word means by interviewing friends and ex-wives of Kane. While this is happening there is a flash back of Charles Foster Kane as a young man and of how he grew up aswell. This film ends with one of the greatest endings in cinema history.

Probably the best film sequel ever made. Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Robert Duvall were absolutely outstanding. Robert De Niro deserved his oscar in this film for Best Supporting Actor. This was probably Robert De Niros first ever film, so along with Peter O Toole in Lawrence Of Arabia, it is one of the best film debuts in history. Al Pacino should have won for Best Leading Actor. I loved this film, but I didnt like it as much as the first Godfather because I love Marlon Brando as Vito Corleone. Dont get me wrong, Robert De Niro is also class as young Vito Corleone. This is the best directed film of the trilogy by Francis Ford Coppola. The art and cinematography was absolutely fantastic aswell. Michael Corleone is like Elizabeth I in some ways because in the first Godfather he was a nice, young man but since he became Don of the Corleone family after Vito died, and when he killed Fredo his half-brother, he became a cold-hearted murdering monster who simply wants power over all of the other families and industries in all of America. That is where Michael is different from Vito. Vito wanted power, but he didnt really turn into a cold-hearted murderer. Don Vito Corleone's youngest son isnt some leering, capering psycho. In Michaels mind he is avenging his family and saving them. Michael never thinks of himself as a gangster. To audience, though, hes the original gangster.

It's sad, when a mother has to speak the words that condemn her own son. But I couldn't allow them to believe that I would commit murder. They'll put him away now, as I should have years ago. He was always bad, and in the end he intended to tell them I killed those girls and that man... as if I could do anything but just sit and stare, like one of his stuffed birds. They know I can't move a finger, and I won't. I'll just sit here and be quiet, just in case they do... suspect me. They're probably watching me. Well, let them. Let them see what kind of a person I am. I'm not even going to swat that fly. I hope they are watching... they'll see. They'll see and they'll know, and they'll say, "Why, she wouldn't even harm a fly..."
Directed by: Alfred Hitchcock Starring: Anthony Perkins, Janet Leigh, Vera Miles, John Gavin, Martin Balsam
Genre: Horror/Thriller
Running time: 109 minutes

My review:
Psycho is one of the most thrilling films and scariest films of all time. This film has a lot of famous and classic scenes. The main scene I think is probably the shower scene where Marion Crane is murdered by Norman Bates pretending to be his mother. When this film was released, this film was refered as a classic horror movie but now I dont think it is a horror film anymore. I think it is just like a psychological thriller. This film I think officially made Alfred Hitchcock the greatest director of all time and also the Master Of Suspense. He directed this film really well. I have seen a lot of disturbing and crazy sort of films but this is definitely one of the best ones. Anthony Perkins portrays the psycho that is Norman Bates very well because he is a young nice looking guy with a hidden psychotic character to him. I think Norman Bates is the most disturbing character that I have witnessed ever. Janet Leigh is brilliant as Marion Crane aswell. This film deserved all of the Oscar nominations it got but didnt win any. It was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for Janet Leigh, Best Director for Alfred Hitchcock, Best Cinematography, Best Art direction. In my view this is a film that I think should have had the Best Picture nomination and Best Leading Actor nomination for Anthony Perkins. This film is my favourite Hitchcock film.

Jack Nicholson's best film!! Louise Fletcher was brilliant as well!! Oscar worthy!! Randle wants fun in the mental house but Ratched doesnt because she is so cold and mean!! She is a passive-aggressive nurse on a power trip, Louise Fletcher's Ratched is the ultimate control freak, willing to do anything to the patients - up to and including frying their brains - in order to keep order. Randle R. McMurphy is a free-spirited con with lightning in his veins and glib on his tongue, fakes insanity and moves in with what he calls the nuts. Immediately, his conagious sense of disorder runs up against numbling routine. No way should guys pickled on sedatives shuffle around in bathrobes when the World Series is on. This means war! On one side is McMurphy. On the other side is soft-spoken Nurse Ratched, among the coldly monstrous villains in film history. At stake is the fate of every patient on the ward. Based on Ken Keseys acclaimed bestseller, this film swept all five major Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Actor - Jack Nicholson, Best Actress - Louise Fletcher, Best Director - Milos Forman and Best Adapted Screenplay. Raucous, searing and with a superb cast that includes Brad Dourif, Danny DeVito and Christopher Lloyd in his film debut, this one soars.

What an absolute classic film. This is probably one of the most warm-hearted family masterpieces of all time. James Stewart portrays George Bailey really well. His performance is in my top 10 performances by an actor in a leading role. James Stewart is one of my favourite actors so that is one of the reasons why I love this film so much. George Bailey is a man who is going in debt and is stressed out with his job. He attempts suicide on Christmas Eve until he meets an angel called Clarence and tells George what the world would be like without him. Because of the pressure that George suffers, he starts getting aggressive and angry towards his wife and children. His wife Mary Hatch Bailey is portrayed by Donna Reed. Donna Reed was good as Mary but I think she could have done better or there could have been a better known actress like Grace Kelly or Ingrid Bergman or someone like that. I was impressed with Lionel Barrymores performance as Mr. Potter. Lionel looked really evil in this film. He was quite a terrifying character and a very cold character for his profession which makes him one of the coldest film villains of all time. No wonder he is number 6 on AFIs top film villains of all time. Mr. Potter is a banker and is the owner of pretty much the whole town. There are many words to describe Mr. Potter, he is greedy, heartless, apathetic, evil and there are probably more words to describe him. He is one of those villains that you wish you could punch right in the face and where it can hurt. Despite of how evil and cold he is, he is in a wheelchair and is disabled. He is just so cold when he doesnt help George when he is in desperate need of it which almost leads him to suicide. This film didnt turn into a fantasy film until at least about 1 hour 25 minutes which is when George attempts suicide and when the angel Clarence first appears aswell. I liked Henry Travers as the Angel Clarence Odbody, AS2 because he looks like a really nice man in real life and looks like a guy who would make a really good angel. This film is one of the earliest fantasy films of all time and is probably one of the best fantasy films of all time aswell. I simply adore the scene where George is by the bridge and there is a large fall of snow around him and all on his body. It is just beautiful. I also love the bit near the end when George is with his family and all of the people in the town are coming giving money and their respects to him and what he success he has given to the locals of the town. It also makes me feel happy because George became very strong within himself when he was in a bit of a crisis in his job which can affect his family and despite that he over came all of that. At that moment, he became one of the best and one of my favourite movie heroes of all time. George is a hero not just in his job but emotionally because he loves his family and would do anything for them. This film deserved every single Oscar nomination is got including Best Actor for James Stewart, Best Picture and Best Director for Frank Capra. This is the only Frank Capra film that I have watched and after I have watched this film I will watch more of his films now. I feel that it should have had two Supporting Actor nominations for Lionel Barrymore and Henry Travers. The classic image of Its A Wonderful Life is when George is holding his wife and children in his arms in front of the Christmas tree of their house. I dont think I have ever seen a film that has made me feel any better. I see now why this film is refered as a feel-good film. This is definitely one of the greatest films of all time, one of the greatest family films, fantasy films and romantic films of all time aswell. This is a Christmas masterpiece that hopefully always will be. I always look forward to Christmas every single year because it brings joy and peace to this cruel world. I usually watch this and The Grinch and Nightmare Before Christmas on Christmas Eve every year. I will again this year and will every year. This is definitely my favourite Christmas film and probably always will be.

It began with the forging of the Great Rings. Three were given to the Elves; immortal, wisest and fairest of all beings. Seven, to the Dwarf Lords, great miners and craftsmen of the mountain halls. And nine, nine rings were gifted to the race of Men, who above all else desire power. For within these rings was bound the strength and the will to govern over each race. But they were all of them deceived, for a new ring was made. In the land of Mordor, in the fires of Mount Doom, the Dark Lord Sauron forged in secret, a master ring, to control all others. And into this ring he poured all his cruelty, his malice and his will to dominate all life. One ring to rule them all. One by one, the free peoples of Middle Earth fell to the power of the Ring. But there were some who resisted. A last alliance of men and elves marched against the armies of Mordor, and on the very slopes of Mount Doom, they fought for the freedom of Middle-Earth. Victory was near, but the power of the ring could not be undone. It was in this moment, when all hope had faded, that Isildur, son of the king, took up his father's sword. And Sauron, enemy of the free peoples of Middle-Earth, was defeated. The Ring passed to Isildur, who had this one chance to destroy evil forever, but the hearts of men are easily corrupted. And the ring of power has a will of its own. It betrayed Isildur, to his death. And some things that should not have been forgotten were lost. History became legend. Legend became myth. And for two and a half thousand years, the ring passed out of all knowledge. Until, when chance came, the ring ensnared another bearer. The ring came to the creature Gollum, who took it deep into the tunnels under the Misty Mountains, and there it consumed him. The ring gave to Gollum unnatural long life. For five hundred years it poisoned his mind; and in the gloom of Gollum's cave, it waited. Darkness crept back into the forests of the world. Rumor grew of a shadow in the East, whispers of a nameless fear, and the Ring of Power perceived. Its time had now come. It abandoned Gollum. But then something happened that the Ring did not intend. It was picked up by the most unlikely creature imaginable. A hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, of the Shire. For the time will soon come when hobbits will shape the fortunes of all...

My review:
This may shock viewers of my review of 2001: A Space Odyssey but I have rented this film from LOVEFILM and have given up on it twice. But when I watched the whole film for first time, I couldnt understand why I gave up on such a masterpiece. This film has a lot of awesome and different qualities like the different plot from very beginning to when space scenes first appeared. The Dawn of Man scene with the ape-men is absolutely fantastic. This scene first introduced the classic music score within this film. This film has one of the best film music scores that I have ever seen my whole film. It is quite tense, tearful and like awe because it matches with the general plot of the film. The make-up and costumes on the ape men at the beginning of the film were absolutely fantastic for a film from the 1960s. The visual effects were superb. It has one of best visual effects from a film that I have ever watched. I just loved the whole plot of this film. I loved all of the characters aswell. Hal 9000 is an awesome character who is not only in complete control of the space ship and is a computer but because he is a villain aswell. I love the quote OPEN THE POD DOORS, HAL. The visual effects on Hal were good aswell but particularly Hals shutdown. Dave Bowmans character was very good aswell but I dont think the actors performance was that good really. There could have been someone more popular and a better actor. I did think if Tom Hanks was an actor around that time I think he would have been good at that character after he was in Apollo 13. I love the scene just after Hals shutdown when Dave goes closer to Jupiter and enters a new space world which shows absolutely fantastic and beautiful scenes with heart warming music aswell. After watching this masterpiece, I am completely torn between what my favourite Kubrick film is. Those films are this, A Clockwork Orange and The Shining. They are all three completely different films but if I went into great depth about each genre. Horror for Shining, Crime for A Clockwork Orange and Sci-Fi/Adventure for 2001: A Space Odyssey. I would probably say this is his best even though I still love Clockwork and Shining. This might change in the future between the three films. 2001: A Space Odyssey is probably Kubricks most achieved film because of the way he wrote it and also how well he structured it aswell. This film appears slow but it isnt slow at all really. The ending of this film brings out pure beauty and a scene that you will never forget. This is widely considered the greatest science fiction film of all time. It is certainly in my top 10 of best sci fi films and maybe even in my top 10 of all time. This is probably my 2nd favourite sci fi film after The Empire Strikes Back. I have seen the sequel it is good but mostly bad.

I absolutely adore this film. This is my favourite action packed film of all time. This is my favourite Ridley Scott film. This is my favourite Russell Crowe film. I personally think he did deserve his Oscar in this film but it was probably luck that he did. I looked on the Oscar charts of 1st to 5th it said that Tom Hanks would win for Cast Away but Russell Crowe was still awesome in this film though. His performance in A Beautiful Mind is another film with one of his best performances. Joaquin Phoenix was absolutely fantastic in this film aswell in his Oscar nominated performance as Commodus. Despite the fact that this film was very action packed with alot of violence involved it was a beautiful tale with Maximus an his murdered wife and son. In this film, the art direction, cinematography and costume design are absolutely awesome which is expected of an epic film and the colours of the film suit both Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe. Even compared to their films together. This is my favourite Scott-Crowe film. I love A Good Year and American Gangster. I cant wait to see Body Of Lies. This film teaches about what the afterlife could be like when you die just like what Maximus sees in this film. This film is tied with Lord Of The Rings as my favourite epic film. This film deserved every single Oscar it got including Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Visual Effects, Best Sound and Best Costume Design. I think that it should have won Best Art Direction, Best director, Best Cinematography and Best Music Original Score. This film will remain a classic action packed epic film for a very long time that will make you jump out of your skin yet would maybe bring tears to your eyes.

This is one of the best film of 2004. I think that the acting in this film was amazing. Kate Winslet deserved her Oscar nomination but Jim Carrey should have been nominated for Best Actor. The screenplay was awesome. It is a story that obviously isnt cant be really true but is a story that can really be in your imagination. Kate Winslet looked good with her highlighted hair. She looks best in the red hair rather than the blue and green hair. Kirsten Dunst, Mark Ruffalo, Elijah Wood and Tom Wilkinson were good in this film aswell. This is the biggest snub of the Oscars, it should have been nominated Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Director aswell. Kate Winslets best film and my favourite Kate Winslet film too. The image when Joel and Clementine are lying down on the ice with a crack in the middle of it, this is the classic image of the film. The technology that was used on Joel to erase the memory of his and Clementines relationship was absolutely outstanding. At first, I thought that this would be pretty crap really because some of the people that I have spoken to about this film said it was pretty shit but when I watched I thought this is the best film of 2004 and one of the best films I have ever seen in my life. Another reason why I underestimated this film at first was because Jim Carrey plays a serious character but when he stars in other films like Dumb and Dumber, The Mask, Liar Liar and How The Grinch Stole Christmas he just plays hilarious characters and is a really hyper character aswell. Very good visual effects in this film aswell. There are a lot of scenes where there are a lot of adventurous scenes and puzzling scenes which can confuse viewers of the film.

When I watched this film for the first time, I didn?t like it at all. But when I watched it again for second time, I enjoyed it a bit more. It was rated 1 star at first but now I have rated it 3 star. I thought that this film was way too complex and hard to understand for my taste. I couldn?t understand what the rabbit was for and about the book with that Grandma Death woman and about the universe. Jake Gyllenhaal is really good as Donnie Darko. When Jake is being manipulated by the rabbit he looks really evil and sort of possessed especially when he is holding the axe around his shoulder. Donnie is a troubled teenager who begins having visions of a large bunny rabbit which persuades Donnie to do terrible crimes. The plot is very dark and also very original. Jakes older sister Maggie plays his on screen sister in this film. Donnies parents Eddie and Rose arent very good parents to him. They are to his sisters Elizabeth and Samantha. They don?t really look out for their son which they should be doing. They only really look out for him until they find out how he has been behaving at school. I find this film seriously overrated. The only thing I liked about this film was Jakes good performance as Donnie and that is about it.

It was alright. It is the sort of film that people would probably watch only once like me. It was very well directed by Fernando Meirelles.

This time I can't bring myself to tell him to shut up. Sure he's an asshole... Sure he's dead... Sure I'm just imagining that he's talking. None of that stops the bastard from being absolutely right. I don't have a chance in hell of outrunning this cop. Not in this heap. The only question left is whether I'm gonna kill him or not. Tough call. For all I know, he's an honest cop, regular guy. Working stiff with a mortgage, a wife and a pile of kids. My hand moves all on its own, sliding on of my guns to my lap and thumbing back the hammer. I don't know what to do...
Directed by: Frank Miller Starring: Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Clive Owen, Jessica Alba, Benicio Del Toro

My review:
Sin City is probably one of the coolest and cleverest film of 2005 and maybe even of all time. My favourite plot is That Yellow Bastard parts 1 and 2 because I think that this one is the darkest out of all of them. The Yellow Bastard/Roark Jr. is such a cool character because seeing black and white visual effects with a yellow man. He even has yellow blood. Also I think Hartigan is a really cool character and I love Jessica Alba as Nancy Callahan. I love The Big Fat Kill which is where a man called Dwight is with his lover and he has to leave to defend and protect the prostitutes particularly Gail who then becomes Dwights new lover from Jackie Boy who is portrayed by Benicio Del Toro. I also love the Hard Goodbye with Mickey Rourke, Elijah Wood and Jaime King. I love the visual effects on this film more than I do on 300. It is basically the colours like the black and white. They are all in different sorts of black and white. I love the other normal colours in this film like the red and yellow. I love the color of the red dress that the lady wears at the beginning of the movie. The Yellow Bastard is probably my favourite character from the whole film because of his psychotic character and also the colour of his blood I love aswell. That is pretty much why I prefer this film than 300 even though I love both. The first two plots are really good aswell where a cop Hartigan has to protect a prostitute Nancy. Marv avenges the woman he loves. There are a lot of awesome and famous stars in this film. I cant wait to see the two sequels of this film.
