Matt Damon stars as the InfidelityBot 9000, whose purpose in the film is to walk around like a robot in a haze from youth to adulthood, expressing a dearth of emotional response to everything he encounters. His most noteworthy charcteristic is his interest in sleeping with hearing-impaired women, even as he is married to one who is not.
As a coming-of-age tale about the CIA, the film has its merits--but all the interesting detials about the Agency are drowned in a vat of tangents about the protagonist's fantastically insipid life outside his work.
Watching how the Agency changed him and warped his development as a person might have made for a fine film, but this was not that film. He looks and acts the same from beginning to end, his life and personality are shaped far more by...
