I am not too familiar with Batman villains, but Johnny Depp to play a comic book villain sounds interesting.

And gosh, Angelina Jolie again?! Why does she always come into the action films and spoil them? Can't stand her.

Casey Affleck as the riddler was another rumour rhat has been circling in recent weeks.

Johnny Depp is a good actor, but i'm not quite sure if Batman is good for him right now.

I think Phillip Seymour Hoffman would be a perfect cast as The Penguin. either him or Bob Hoskins would do. It all depends on what and how the screenwriter chooses the age and all to be for The Penguin if that is the villian of choice.

It would be insane for the studio not to approach Johnny Depp for the role of The Riddler. He could nail almost any role and is just as good as heath Ledger when it comes to role casting. Angelina Jolie would be a decent choice as Catwoman since I dunno anyone else who could topple her. All I know is whoever the casting department chooses for the next batch of villians would be a good choice on their own part

I would hate to see a stepdown from The Dark Knight thats for sure. Warner made that mistake with Batman Forever and I don't think they would wanna make another flop.

Well first off this isnt the 7th film. This is a whole new imagination off of the Batman films. anyhow I think johnny Depp has talent and personally believe he could pull it off as The Riddler. In the original script it was to have the Joker return as one of the villians. since Heath Ledger's death it left a HUGE gap there on what number 3 should be about.

What is certain though is that 2 Face would be in number 3 as the main bad guy. Also The riddler is highly rumored as so is The Penguin. Catwoman I am very uncertain about especially since Angelina Jolie wants the part. One thing for sure is that Robin would most certainly not be in Batman 3.

Christian Bale himself said no officially to it and if Robin does make it into the script he would have to be written as a cool character. One villian I would like to see in this new series is Mr Freeze. Now I highly think he would be a very dark villian.

You're daft, you can't call it the third.

Even mentioning the return of Mr Freezes drops your credibility. Batman and Robin was the worst movie of them all.

No Two-Face for TDK sequel

At the end of the film, Harvey Dent/Two-Face apparently fell to his death during a standoff with Batman and Jim Gordon in a warehouse. Some have suggested that Dent is not dead due to rumors that he will appear in the third Batman movie and the fact that there was no blood. Also, no coffin was seen at the Dent memorial. So could Two-Face be locked away in a hospital or a mental institution?

"The Dark Knight" producer Emma Thomas touched on the topic when IGN brought it up. Unfortunately, her reply was not very helpful, stating that fans could interpret it either way they'd like.

But what were the filmmaker going for? In the movie novelization, author Dennis O'Neil wrote, "Dent was sprawled, neck twisted, the mutilated side of his face exposed, his left eye open and staring sightlessly. He was obviously dead."

And the script by Jonathan and Christopher Nolan -- included in "The Dark Knight: Featuring Production Art and Full Shooting Script" -- states, "Dent lies at the bottom of the hole, his neck broken. DEAD."

So there is your answer. Two-Face will not be returning for part 3.

There is always the slightest possibility that he could come back into number 3. It really didn't say he was dead. He could've been knocked out from the fall but it really didn't show that he was dead. Maybe it was left for us to think he was dead but we all won't know until an official roster of villians are announced for Batman 3.

All I hope is that johnny Depp accepts the part if The riddler is the official villian in number 3. Phillip Seymour hoffman would also be a great addition to the villians as The Penguin. I really cannot see Angelina Jolie in the film as Catwoman but if Catwoman is one of the villians then so be it.

Also I know that Batman and Robin was THE worst batman movie ever but I highly think it would be cool if Mr Freeze is written as a villian for maybe Batman 4. The first and second did well so its obvious it could go up to 4 batman films.

Phillip Seymour Hoffman is a great choice as the penguin, but Johnny Depp probably will not do Batman. It doesnt seem like his type of film. Neither did Pirates , and look what happened there. Johnny is one of the best actors around, but right now he is trying to get away from having his face plastered all over the billboards. He is doing films that only his real fans will like.

Mr.Freeze is a great choice for say a Batman 4, but Im not sure the series is going to go that long. If they do,write him in and see how it goes. Nothing can be as bad as Batman and Robin.

Angelina Jolie is not that talented when it comes to doing action films. She is better in just a well written drama with a message. Batman is definitley not her type of film.

I really need to see the old Batman films to get familiar with all those villains.

I personally wanna see Johnny Depp as The Riddler. I really cannot see anyone else playing that role besides Johnny Depp himself. Also word has it out there that Warner Brothers were holding auditions for new people to play The Joker for Batman 3. Apparently it didn't last long because they figured fans would get mad.

I do hope 2 face shows up again in Batman 3. As I said before it isn't official that he is dead so the door is open. I can assume that the villian roster for Batman 3 are The Riddler,The Penguin,Catwoman and possibly 2 Face. Also it is slightly possible that maybe Robin could appear in Batman 3.

Time will tell how good these ideas would be.

Hoffman as the Penguin is probably the BEST idea for a batman movie ever!

I'd like to see Jim Carrey as the Joker, a friend of mine said so. He's not keen into movies, but since Carrey played such a role in Number 23 (the movie wasn't that good) the character development, and Jim Carrey on a serious role was just amazing. He'd be a good Joker, apart from that Ledger and Carry have similar facial features.


Believe me, with a slight audio tweak and make-up people will think that Ledger was cloned.

That wouldn't stop his performance. And you wouldn't go and see this with a Johnny Depp fan girl, so what harm would it do you?

Batman is not good for Johnny Depp at the moment. Fan girls would ruin the performance Lulu. It wouldnt even be that Johnny did a good job, it would simply just be that it was Johnny. He needs to stay way from huge media frenzy films.

I dont think they will continue with the Joker, it would make a lot of people mad. Myself included. Go in the direction of another villian. I must agree with Keiths idea of Jim Carrey though. It is the best idea I have heard yet, but still dont wish to see it done.

I can see where you're coming from but couldn't it go one of two ways? Either the film gets swamped by POTC fans (but then the film would make more money :P Or they could ban people from having pirate related stuff at the premiere or something :P It works, the RSC banned people from taking Star Trek & Doctor Who merchandise to the current stage show of Hamlet in which David Tennant and Patrick Stewart star) or a load of screaming fans could go and see it just for Johnny Depp and come out of it thinking "Wow, he's not just Jack Sparrow" and find that they like a bunch of other actors in the movie who have never been pirates xD

For one Jim Carey played The Riddler in Batman Forver which starred Val Kilmer. The film was crap and Jim Carey was a joke in that role he played. I would highly think that Johnny Depp would be the perfect character to play The Riddler. He can easily get into a role and think he would possibly give off an amazing performance. Now if Phillip Seymour Hoffman takes the part as The Penguin then there would be steep competition.

That make sense Lulu. But with todays media and everything you can see the stories already. The Batman franchise doesnt need that at the moment.

Jim Carrey was one of the better parts of Batman Forever.

You guys are all missing one important detail:

The Riddler is a completely lame villain. I can't think of one good Riddler story in all of Batman comics, so much so that I think he was more or less written out in the later years. He was more of a happy, smiley Adam West type Batman villian. Not to mention he had no character depth.

And sadly yes. Jim Carrey was probably the best actor in that movie. But that's mostly because Tommy Lee Jones more or less impersonated Jack's Joker, when The Joker and Two-Face are nothing alike...

Trevor you have no idea what you're talking about, Jim Carrey's role was a joke but it was well acted. The Joker will be back, what made the role so powerful wasn't just Heath's performance. It was the quotes and Nolan's view of a sinister dark character.

Two Face won't be back, they hardly focused on the character in the comics themselves, and there is little ground you can build on. Apart from that who would make allies with an ex-Attorney who had his face scarred and went mad?

OK, I know that Seymour would be an awesome role too. You said that before and no-one disagreed.

Also the Riddler is a very weak character, just like Two face there is little ground to cover. There is hardly any character development and Batman would easily beat him.

So Trevor, please stop repeating the same posts over and over again.

They should bring Black Mask instead.
