OK, version 1.01 of skins is out and live. Thanks for your patience. New:
1. You can now use a skin you create on your own profile right away. We'll only select a very few each week for the gallery but - within reason - you can do whatever you want on your profile. (And friends of yours can grab it from you.
2. Gallery now sorts by date and most popular.
3. For those artists out there - we've made uploading and editting a LOT easier. Now you can still edit after you've uploaded the skin so no need to reupload everything again.
4. Went through approved all the submitted skins thus far (> 200!!) and added a few to the gallery. We'll be adding more a few times per week so check back often. You can always sort by date to see what's new...
ALL the credit on this one goes to eugene!! he's really gone over the top to make skins cool.
okay, overnight I've had like 50 requests for skins, so I've started a skin request thread, for any skins people would like created, please go here. Please read the little description in the first post. Thanks, it just makes it easier if you do. Due to the sheer number of requests and amount of time I have verses time it takes to make a skin, please be patient as I may not be able to get around to your skin right away.
For all you guys who just need a little help making your own skins, please use my new skin help thread!
Please use this thread to ask any questions about creating your own skins or related inquiries (eg, photoshop help or finding the correct color in hex code to use for your text) and either myself, or someone else who can answer your question will do so as soon as possible!
I could use anyone who has a little skill with creating skins in my request thread because right now its only me and Kalel (shortcartoonist) creating skins. However there are many more people than that who are requesting skins and we simply don't have the time to be able to do them all.

Joe, is there anyway we can get rid of skins that appear in our lists saying "Deleted by administrator" or "Cancelled by User", because it's annoying having theme there clogging up space.
I've got an idea for the site I would love.....show a list of the people using a certain skin instead of just the number of people using it.
I would find this very useful.
I second that, that would be sweet. Also Joe, are there any plans to make a list with ALL skins that have been accepted, a different section to the Featured Gallery? Or maybe even a little search function so people can browse through skins?
Yeah, like Kalel said, a search function would be sweet, but for now I'd settle for a Browse All Active Skins function. It would help heaps to be able to see what skins are already out there so we don't double up on skins... unless of course they're crap and in need of a better one.
My PInk Panther skin has been removed because of illegible text. That's totally fine. I actually agree. BUT...
I have to resubmit the whole thing (i.e. I can't manage it anymore). That includes getting text colors again and resubmitting it. Pain in the ass, but fine.
But then, I try to resubmit it as the same name (as it should be) and it says someone has already taken that name (yeah! It was me!). THEN, it brings me back to the screen wher I have to resubmit it AGAIN. Including hex colors and all.
This has gotten annoying. I TOTALLY understand the need for checking skins and approval. I 150% agree. But then I should be able to fix it very easily. I shouldn't have to resubmit the whole thing under a different name when all I need to do is tweak the font color a bit!!!!
You guys are doing a great job and I can imagine the amount of hard work that is going into it. But this is the first time I demand that something be changed, or I'm going to stop submitting skins because it is too risky. And too much of a waste of time to create these things, only to have to go back and spend more time resubmitting them (under a different name no less).
If an error is found in the skin upon submission, just click the BACK button on your browser. If should remember all the values you entered into the boxes (i.e. hex colours and such), so you need only redefine any relevant images.
I was just about to say that kuruptd. I hat e it when there's like 5 of the same skin on someone's profile and they have all been removed. This includes my skins. If it's been removed, THEN REMOVE IT!
hello skin artists ! just wanted to say that all 'removed' skins will no longer appear on your skins list. also, we'll remove the 'restriction' on unique skin names. These changes will appear in our next build/release, which should be soon.
I DONT REALLY KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS, LIKE WHAT THE HECK ARE WE TALKING ABOUT, SO IM JUST GONNA SAY THAT WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO MAKE OUR PROFILE MORE COOLER THAN ANYTHING. WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO DECORATE IT, AND IT MAKE IT REALLY NICE.
Hi Joe, just wanted to say that I love the skins feature. ^_~
But I was wondering.......a suggestion for the skins section if there isn't one right now: an area to make requests? I'd love to see one of one of the Final Fantasy movies but no one's made it yet.
Other than that, I can't think of any other suggestions. Having too much fun changing my skin every few days. LoL!

yes, I created the "Skinners Guild of Flixster" for just such purposes. Unfortunately I don't get around to seeing it much as I don't have as much spare time as I used to. Nor do I make many skins these days unfortunately.
Oh, and for the record putting the time you edited your post at doesn't help much because people come from many many different time zones around here ; ).
