What about the original & still only good version of 'The Lathe of Heaven'? She starred in that Canadian production. Great little film even if the fx aren't great. Hey, it was the 70's man! Don't see the remake with James Caan. They missed the point.

Ms. Avery is no doubt one of the fine African American Actors among many who are generally taken for granted.. It appears that the Holly Berrys are more favored in this industry, not taking away anything from Ms. Berry, also a fine actress.
Hollywood has a long way to go in regards to Africans American Actors ( male or females). Ms. Avery did a excellant job in her portarayal of MS. SHUG in this film, Hope to see more of her

Margaret Avery delivered one of the all time greatest supporting role performances in The Color Purple. I want to see more work from her.
